Hello Hivers! I’m here again for another Travel Serye. Today I will be sharing our quick Baguio Escapade that lasts only for a day. As always, sit tight, take a cup of virtual coffee, make yourself comfy, and let’s go on this adventure together.

One hot summer night, my cousin wanted to go to Baguio, so he invited all of our other family members to go with him. So around 4 a.m., we go on the road to drive to Baguio, which is only a 2-3 hour drive from Tarlac. Around 6 a.m., we arrived at the entrance of Baguio, and you can see the famous Lion Head that welcomes visitors and tourists to Baguio. Baguio, located in the province of Benguet in Northern Luzon, is a mountain resort city that serves as the economic center of the entire Cordillera region and is also known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines because of its cold weather.

Strawberry Farm

We are all starving, so our first stop is for breakfast. So we travel to the Strawberry Farm, which has several eateries serving great meals. I also had their strawberry ice cream, which was tasty despite the cold weather. After breakfast, we wanted to pick fresh strawberries from the farm, but they were not in season at the time, so picking strawberries was not a smart idea.

Igorot Stone Kingdom

We just decided to go to other tourists’ spots in Baguio, so we go to Igorot Stone Kingdom, which is the newest man-made attraction in Baguio. In fact, when we visited the Igorot Stone Kingdom, it wasn't completely done with other parts of it yet. Surrounded by thick woods, the enormous Igorot-themed park has stone buildings that resemble stair-like rice terraces. Tourists can enjoy the place by strolling around during the day.

Mines View Park

After a refreshing stroll at the Igorot Stone Kingdom, we headed straight to Mines View Park to view the overlook of Baguio City. Its main attraction is a viewing deck that offers a stunning view of the Cordillera Mountains and Benguet's old copper and gold mines. You just need to walk and climb an uphill path to get there. But the tiredness from walking and climbing is rewarded by the breathtaking view of Baguio City that kisses the clouds.

Must visit Tourists Spots

Strolling in the streets of Baguio relaxes me, especially when a cold breeze touches my face. We also visit other tourists’ spots in Baguio, like Camp John Hey, just to buy souvenirs because souvenirs are a must when visiting Baguio. We also visited The Mansion, but sadly, it’s close, so we just took photos at the gates, we also rest at Burnham Park to enjoy the sceneries and the man made lake, and lastly, we ate lunch at The Good Taste, which is a must-visit restaurant in Baguio because of its big servings and delicious yet affordable dishes.
