Hi guys! This is the last 2021 recap post, my next post will probably be more Adventure Series art :)

Winged Draxolotl

I used to paint a lot of dragons, so I took it as a fun challenge to design a new kind of dragon in my Neon style. All of the symbols are decipherable, I've shared the signs in one of the previous blog posts.

Circuits flicker to the rhythm of the metallic heartbeat. Firing neurons, flowing memories, entangled in forgotten dreams... https://superrare.com/artwork-v2/winged-draxolotl-30159

I mostly work with colors and let the mood and flow decide the direction for the painting.

This metamorphose cycle pushes boundaries of reality taking on a new form. The magnificent beast of myths, a peculiar creation known in many forms. An immutable force of nature with the power to reassemble atoms, electrifying the air itself...

Tree of Life

In October I celebrated my 1 year SuperRare anniversary <3 https://superrare.com/artwork-v2/tree-of-life-29251 My first art on SuperRare was a set of trees, so I wanted to show my progress and development by painting a new kind of tree. My style has changed a lot in the past couple of years, but it has more of evolved than changed.

The forest was beautifully tranquil and the air was lightly scented with lush greenery and unknown flowers. The hero had been following the forest path for days and she had finally reached the gates. On its sides she saw remains of ancient walls of a temple or it might have been a palace. The walls were covered in intricate carvings imbued with foreign protection spells and many symbols lot to time. The magic eye embroidery on her cloak was her guide which let her see beyond what was visible to the naked eye. It was her traveling companion, always by her side, her protection, her comfort. The hero slowly walked up the ascending stairs to the Tree of Life. Its glow was so strong she had to often avert her eyes from the blazing light. From closer she could see this tree was actually a trio, that grew and was fully interconnected as one, imbued with power to change fate. --Adventure Series is about discovery, persistence and personal growth. Midnight Calm

Minted in September, originally started as one of my daily sketches. I've always loved painting skies and seas, it can be a challenge to paint sea without making it too noisy. The sky is somewhat inspired by the Aurora effect, but I wanted a more magical feel for it. I paint chaotically and work out the fine details afterwards. It can be a slow process, but this way the painting feels a lot more dynamic. In comparison, the sketch and final may feel very similar, even thought the final work takes many hours to detail and clean up. The art is meant to be seen on big screen, so you can see the patterns and symbols.

The waters were incredibly still, only interrupted by quiet splashing. The hero was rowing the boat in pitch darkness. Feeling exhausted she paused, unsure of her destination. Her instinct brought her here, but she wondered if she had made a mistake. She was about to turn back when the night sky grew brighter, suddenly illuminated by dancing lights. She was instantly mesmerized by the gorgeous sight, breath-taken by the vivid colors that even made the clouds glow.

She noticed a rift in the sky, the thick darkness that slashed through the lights. There the cosmic energy was leaking through. She felt her magic returning and it was washing away any lingering darkness off her magical cloak. Feeling immensely grateful, she was more appreciative of simple things, realizing their transience...

Water Lilies

The beauty of nature that represents a calm state of mind. Water Lilies are the muse of pure expression that evoke a meditative state as the brush strokes fill the canvas.

Surrounded by the magnificent mountains, there was a hidden fortress. Concealed by many powerful spells and visible only to those who seek it with good intention. The interior was carved out of gems with many crystal pillars supporting the high ceilings....

The halls were filled with great sculptures and murals depicting historical events. This place was a gathering for all around the world- the best mercenaries, knights, magicians and many more....

Serenity

Mermaid.jpg

Far away in a cold lake covered in water lilies lived a beautiful, gentle Rusalka. She was as pale as the lilies and had the most magnificent iridescent tail that glowed softly in the moonlight. She was also unlike the others of her kind, as she had memories of her previous life. She often slipped in and out of daydreams, reliving the blurry snippets of her past, still holding onto a sliver of hope of seeing her loved ones once again...
