- Is the death penalty ever justifiable?
- If your closest family member committed a serious crime (like murder or fraud), would you cover for them or turn them in? Why?
- Should physical punishment (flogging, caning, etc.) ever be an acceptable alternative to prison?
- Norway has famously humane prisons, even for violent offenders. Are these conditions too soft, or are they the most moral approach?
- Should victims (or victims' families) have a say in what kind of punishment offenders receive?
- Do wealth and social status affect how people are punished? Is punishment ever truly equal under the law?
