Her eyes are closed— not in peace, but in protest. A drag from the stub, like drawing breath from war.
This smoke is not surrender— it’s survival. Each puff a sermon from the altar of her scars.
She has known fire from both ends— one that burned her youth, and this one that calms her bones.
Still, she does not speak. She doesn’t need to. The silence between her lips is louder than screams.
