During our recent stay in a hotel in Zamboanga City, I came across this beautiful corner display that immediately caught my attention. It wasn’t a grand painting or an elaborate sculpture in a gallery, but a simple arrangement tucked neatly into the wall—yet it radiated elegance and creativity.
The composition features two vases filled with a mixture of dried and preserved plants in earthy tones. The blend of whites, browns, and greens creates a natural yet artistic balance, almost like nature captured in still form. Right beside the floral arrangement is a small bust sculpture of a classical figure, adorned with pearl-like necklaces. The piece exudes grace and timeless beauty, reminiscent of Greek and Roman art, and its placement next to the vases makes the whole setting look like a curated display in a museum.
What fascinated me most was how this artful arrangement was placed in such a casual setting—a hotel hallway corner. It’s a reminder that art doesn’t always need to be found in galleries or expensive exhibitions. Sometimes, it’s present in the most unexpected places, quietly adding charm and character to a space.
