This week’s contest theme is Earth, and for my entry, I decided to capture something simple yet meaningful. The photo I took comes from my aunt’s bonsai tree.
Every morning, during the opening of our store, my aunt has a little routine—she waters her plant while the place is still quiet. At first, I didn’t pay much attention to it, since she does it every day. But then I remembered this week’s contest and realized how much her plant, the soil, and the roots reflect the essence of Earth.
I focused my camera on the base of the bonsai tree—the soil that holds it together and the roots that give it life. To me, this is what Earth is all about: providing nourishment, strength, and a foundation for all living things. Even a small plant in a pot shows us the powerful connection between life and the ground beneath us.
