This is precisely what Black Fox is about, a 2019 film with a slightly peculiar and quite dynamic original story that I found quite interesting, but like many works, it suffered the tragic fate of problems in its development, causing it to remain an unfinished story that leaves us with a feeling of dissatisfaction.

In the end, both Rikka's grandfather and father are killed, and she escapes with the three robotic animals to seek revenge against those who murdered her family.

Rikka also meets a young woman named Melissa who seems to help her take care of the apartment, although she is a character about whom practically nothing is explained and who ultimately turns out to have a much more complex background.

One slightly annoying aspect of this film is the speed of the story and how many characters end up feeling quite improvised or simply not developed in the right way. At first, it shows how Rikka and Mia meet unexpectedly and don't know the truth about each other, but then very hastily they find themselves in the middle of combat. We see some moments from Mia's past about how her father used her for experiments and how now she only wants to destroy everything related to the Isuguri. The friendship or alliance between Mia and Rikka is not developed in the best way, even though Rikka had many reasons to hate her. Even Mayor Bran barely appears after the death of Rikka's relatives, and he was supposedly responsible for everything. In the end, it is shown in a very forced and practically improvised way that Melissa also seems to have a certain relationship with the robotic animals and even appears in a combat suit like Rikka and Mia, but without explaining why she has it or what it is for.

All these questionable aspects of the development leave many doubts and aspects of the story that, in addition to seeming strange, also feel very unfinished. Since this is an original story with no previous anime on which to base it, this suggests that its rapid and unfinished development may be due to possible production problems and that the film was completed in this way simply because it was not canceled. The final scene makes me think that the film may indeed have had some setbacks, as it ends with Mia, Rikka, and the unexpected Melissa appearing ready to attack the final villain after a long story that was not shown, and now, after almost six years, there seems to be no continuation of the story. Despite all this, Black Fox ends up being an interesting story despite its flaws in the development of the plot. It also has very good animation quality, where the combat and action scenes are very well done and manage to generate a lot of excitement. It's a shame that it seems that the story will not have the proper conclusion.

Las historias de Ninjas siempre pueden llamar la atención para al menos darle una oportunidad y tratar de verla, y si también se involucra tecnologías futuristas tenemos una premisa que puede ser bastante llamativa e interesante. De esto se trata precisamente Black Fox, una película del año 2019 y que se trata de una historia original un poco peculiar y bastante dinámica que para mi gusto resulto bastante interesante, pero que como muchas obras tuvo el trágico destino que sufrir problemas en su desarrollo causando que hasta el momento sea una historia inconclusa que además nos deja con un sentimiento de inconformidad.

Esta historia nos presenta como protagonista a Rikka Isurugi, una niña con un trasfondo y destino bastante peculiar pues es la nieta del jefe del clan Isurugi, un antiguo clan ninja en declive, aunque su abuelo es un ninja realmente habiloso, fuerte y sumamente letal, parece que es el último miembro del clan y dicho clan durante mucho tiempo se ha encargado de cumplir todas las misiones que se les asignen y asesinar si así lo requiere la misión, desde pequeña Rikka ha entrenado con su abuelo haciendo que tengas grandes habilidades así como también ser muy buena combatiendo y contando con una agilidad increíble.

Al mismo tiempo Rikka también es hija de un increíble científico, su padre Allen resulta ser un científico que ha logrado crear una tecnología muy avanzando recreando animales robóticos con una inteligencia artificial que le otorga prácticamente una conciencia, son robot con bastante habilidades como radar, proyectar hologramas y varios aspectos más, al ser tan útiles un grupo secreto quiere obligar a Allen a trabajar con ellos pero al negarse deciden robar todo y asesinarlos en el proceso, al final tanto el abuelo como el padre de Rikka son asesinados y ella escapa con los 3 animales robóticos para emprender la búsqueda de su venganza contra quienes asesinaron a su familia.

Luego de la muerte de sus padres se nos muestra como Rikka trata de sobrevivir por su cuenta junto con sus 3 compañeros robots, trabajando como asistente de un investigador privado y al mismo tiempo tratar de descubrir todo sobre quienes atacaron su hogar y asesinaron a su familia, algo interesante es que el villano principal era amigo de su padre, se llama Bran y como solía pasar en antiguas series o historias, oculta su verdadera personalidad debido a que también es el alcalde de la ciudad y es públicamente adorado aunque en secreto es una persona codiciosa que no le importa asesinar con tal de cumplir su objetivo. Rikka también convine con una joven llamada Melissa que parece le ayuda con los cuidados del apartamento, aunque es un personaje del cual no se explica prácticamente nada y al final resulta tener un trasfondo mucho más complejo.

Esta historia además de la tecnología futurista de los robots autómatas, también presenta varios aspectos más de ciencia ficción en donde incluso contamos con un personaje llamado Mia, quien es una joven chica que tiene una especie de poderes mentales que le permite volar, lanzar rayos y hasta causar ondas de choque, Mia es utilizada por su padre un científico loco obsesionado con superar a Allen e incluso obligo a su hija a asesinar a los familiares de Rikka, aunque RIkka parece estar determinada asesinar a todos los involucrados en la muerte de su padre y abuelo, parece que el matar no se le da tan fácil como a su abuelo y al descubrir que Mia también es una víctima poco a poco comienza a empatizar con ella.

Un aspecto un poco molesto de esta película es la velocidad de la historia y como muchos personajes terminan sintiéndose bastante improvisados o simplemente no se desarrollan de la forma correcta, en un principio se muestra como Rikka y Mia se conocen de forma inesperada y no saben la verdad sobre la otra, pero luego muy apresuradamente se consiguen en medio del combate, se muestran algunos momentos del pasado de Mia sobre como su padre la utilizaba para experimentos y como ahora solo quiere destruir todo lo relacionado con los Isuguri, no se desarrolla de la mejor manera la amistad o alianza entre Mia y Rikka aun cuando Rikka tenía mucha razones para odiarla, incluso el alcalde Bran apenas aparece luego de la muerte de los familiares de Rikka y se supone era el responsable de todo. Al final se muestra de una forma muy forzada y prácticamente improvisada como Melissa también parece tener cierta relación con los animales robóticos y hasta aparece con un traje de combate como Rikka y Mia, pero sin explicar por qué lo tiene o para qué es.

Todos estos aspectos criticables en el desarrollo dejan muchas dudas y aspectos de la historia que además de parecer extraños también se sienten muy inconclusos, al tratarse de una historia original sin un anime previo sobre el cual se base esto hace pensar que puede que su desarrollo tan rápido e inconcluso se deba a posibles problemas con la producción y que haya sido terminada la película de esta forma simplemente por no terminar de cancelar la misma, la escena final me hace pensar que efectivamente la película pudo tener algún contratiempo pues terminan mostrando a Mia, Rikka y la inesperada Melissa como si estuvieran lista para atacar el villano final luego de una larga historia la cual no se mostró, y ahora luego de casi 6 años no parece tener alguna continuación de la historia. A pesar de todo esto, al final Black Fox termina siendo una historia interesante a pesar de sus fallas en el desarrollo de la historia, también cuenta con una calidad en su animación muy buena en donde las escenas de combate y acción resulta muy bien hechas y logran generar bastante emoción, es una pena que parece que no tendrá la culminación debida de su historia.
