Conociendo La Piedra Movediza en Tandil
Estoy muy emocionado porque es mi primera vez fuera del AMBA. A pesar de que tengo ya 8 años en Argentina, nunca había salido de Capital Federal y de zona norte de la Provincia de Buenos Aires. Argentina es un país hermoso y enorme, hay tantos lugares por conocer, que realmente espero tener la oportunidad de visitar. Esta vez, finalmente, pude conocer un lugar que tengo muchísimo tiempo queriendo conocer: Tandil. Está aproximadamente a 5 horas de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires y es un lugar para desconectarse totalmente y apreciar la vista desde diferentes puntos de la Ciudad. A diferencia de CABA, tiene muchas zonas altas con hermosas vistas. CABA es bastante plana y la única forma de tener una vista de la Ciudad es estando en un piso alto de algún edificio.
Primera parada: La Piedra Movediza
Visité el Parque Lítico La Movediza en Tandil y la verdad... ¡hermoso! Un lugar súper natural, lleno de piedras, árboles y con una vista tremenda de la ciudad. La subida es bastante tranqui, aunque hay que tener un poquito de estado físico, al menos lo mínimo. No es para sufrir, no vas a subir una gran montaña por horas, pero tampoco es un paseo en una plaza. Eso sí, vale totalmente la pena.
Cuando llegas arriba te vas a encontrar con la réplica de la famosa Piedra Movediza, que es como un símbolo de gran importante en Tandil. Hay una placa que cuenta que la inauguraron en 2007, con nombres como Néstor Kirchner, Felipe Solá y el intendente de ese momento. Me parece hermoso que lo hayan reconstruido porque es parte de la historia del lugar y resalta mucho a Tandil y su grandeza.
Lo que más me gustó fue el paisaje. El amanecer desde ahí es una locura, Llegamos a las 6am aproximadamente y es un lugar absolutamente mágico. Todos estaban sacándose fotos, respirando aire puro y desconectando un poco con el ruido de la ciudad. Si vas a Tandil, esta parada es prácticamente obligatoria.
Como era de esperarse saqué un montón de fotos, pero por suerte también tuve la oportunidad de simplemente estar ahí, cerrar los ojos y permitirme respirar el aire, sentir el Sol, estar rodeado de árboles... No sabía lo mucho que necesitaba de eso hasta que estuve ahí.
La gran mayoría de las personas que fuimos somos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, por lo que todos comentábamos lo impresionante que era estar en un lugar con una vista tan hermosa, con tanta paz, tanto silencio. Es en momentos como estos cuando te das cuenta que normalizaste un poco vivir dentro del caos de la ciudad. Me siento afortunado de poder conocer este lugar y tengo muchas ansias de volver. Hay tantos lugares hermosos en esta ciudad que les quiero compartir. Ahhhh... Me enamoré de Tandil.

Exploring the Piedra Movediza in Tandil
I'm super excited because this is my first time outside of the Greater Buenos Aires area (AMBA). Even though I’ve been in Argentina for 8 years, I had never left Capital Federal or the northern part of Buenos Aires Province. Argentina is such a beautiful and huge country — there are so many places to see, and I really hope I get the chance to visit more of them.
This time, I finally got to visit a place I’ve wanted to see for ages: Tandil. It’s about 5 hours away from Buenos Aires City, and it’s perfect if you want to disconnect and enjoy some amazing views. Unlike Buenos Aires, Tandil has lots of hills and elevated spots with stunning views. CABA is super flat, and the only way to see the city from above is from a tall building.
First stop: La Piedra Movediza
I visited the “Parque Lítico La Movediza” in Tandil and honestly… it was beautiful! A super natural spot, full of rocks, trees, and a killer view of the city. The hike up is pretty chill, though you do need at least a little bit of physical condition. It's not torture, you’re not climbing a mountain for hours, but it’s not like strolling through a park either. Still, it’s totally worth it.
Once you get to the top, you’ll find the replica of the famous “Piedra Movediza,” which is a really important symbol of Tandil. There’s a plaque saying it was inaugurated in 2007, with names like Néstor Kirchner, Felipe Solá, and the local mayor at the time. I think it’s awesome that they rebuilt it because it’s such a big part of the town’s history and identity.
What I loved most was the scenery. The sunrise from up there is unreal. We got there around 6am, and it was absolutely magical. Everyone was taking pictures, breathing in the fresh air, and just unplugging from the noise of the city. If you go to Tandil, this stop is a must.
Of course, I took a ton of pictures, but luckily I also took a moment to just be there — eyes closed, breathing it all in, feeling the sun, surrounded by trees. I didn’t realize how much I needed that until I was there.
Most of the people I went with are from Buenos Aires City too, so we were all amazed by the peace and beauty of the place. Moments like this make you realize how used you are to the chaos of the city. I feel so lucky I got to visit Tandil, and I can’t wait to go back. There are so many beautiful places in this city that I want to share with you. Ahhhh… I fell in love with Tandil.
