Museo de Arte Moderno
Nunca había entrada al Museo Moderno, a pesar de que he ido en muchas ocasiones a San Telmo. Esta semana quiero ir a conocer lugares nuevos, inspirado a que he estado relativamente activo en esta comunidad, lo cual me está ayudando bastante a motivarme a conocer lugares, salir más de casa, etc. Pero eso ya será contenido para otra publicación.
No soy muy seguidor del arte moderno, no es algo que disfrute mucho de ver, para ser toalmente honesto, pero fui con total apertura a ver con qué me encontraba. Lo primero que noté es lo evidente, es un edificio enorme, tiene un hermoso café al fondo donde te puedes sentar a leer, tomar unos mates o relajarte. Además de eso es evidente lo bien conservado que está el lugar. Tiene perfecto sentido que te cobren $2500 pesos para ingresar, que es básicamente 2 dólares aproximadamente.
Una vez dentro, no tenía idea por dónde comenzar. Por suerte, el personal fue muy amable y me orientó sobre las distintas salas y exposiciones activas, hay muchas personas dispuestas a guiarte, además muchísima seguridad. También vi en una de las paredes una guía de los pisos, la podrán ver más abajo, que me ayudó a ubicarme mejor. El museo está distribuido en varios niveles, y cada uno ofrece una experiencia distinta.
La exposición de Valentina Quintero me gustó muchísimo. Aunque debo reconocer que ese nombre siempre me hizo pensar en otra cosa, es que en Venezuela hay una Valentina Quintero que es muy conocida y querida, por lo que solo con leer su nombre me sentí como si por un momento estuve de regreso en Venezuela.
También disfruté muchísimo la exposición de Dalila Puzzovio. En contraste con la de Valentina, esta era mucho más experimental, por decirlo de una manera.
Además de estas dos muestras, pasé por otras salas donde encontré obras de Jorge Miño y la muestra "Moderno y Metamoderno".
Siempre es un placer conocer lugares nuevos. Salí feliz de haber conocido otro lugar y aprender cosas nuevas. Gracias a esta comunidad por motivarme a descubrir lugares nuevos. <3

Museum of Modern Art
I had never been inside the Museo Moderno, even though I’ve been to San Telmo many times. This week, I felt like exploring new places, inspired by the fact that I’ve been relatively active in this community, which has really helped motivate me to get out more and discover new spots. But I’ll leave that for another post.
I’m not really a fan of modern art, to be completely honest—it’s not something I usually enjoy. But I went in with an open mind, ready to see what I’d find. The first thing I noticed was the obvious: the building is huge. There’s a beautiful café in the back where you can sit down to read, drink some mate, or just relax. The place is clearly very well maintained. It makes total sense that they charge AR$2,500 to enter, which is roughly 2 US dollars.
Once inside, I had no idea where to start. Luckily, the staff was super friendly and pointed me toward the different rooms and current exhibitions. There were plenty of people available to guide you, and security was very present throughout the museum. I also saw a map of the floors on one of the walls—you’ll see it below—which helped me get my bearings. The museum is spread across several levels, and each one offers a different kind of experience.
I really enjoyed the Valentina Quintero exhibition. Though I have to admit, that name instantly made me think of someone else—back in Venezuela, there’s a very well-known and beloved Valentina Quintero, so just reading her name made me feel like I had suddenly been transported back home for a moment.
I also really enjoyed the Dalila Puzzovio exhibition. In contrast to Valentina’s work, this one was much more experimental, for lack of a better word.
Besides those two, I visited other rooms where I found pieces by Jorge Miño and the exhibition “Modern and Metamodern.”
It’s always a pleasure to explore new places. I left feeling happy to have discovered something new and learned a few things along the way. Thanks to this community for motivating me to get out and explore. <3
