Un paseo por el Dique y Lago de Tandil
Otro hermosa experiencia en Tandil. Esta vez fuimos a conocer el Dique y el Lago. Un lugar hermoso y especial, como cada rincón que he conocido de Tandil.
Fuimos en grupo, como siempre, con el mismo grupo que fui a recorrer los demás lugares que compartí en mis publicaciones recientes. Seremos unos treinta más o menos, y lo lindo es que hay gente de todos lados. Algunos de Tandil, otros de distintas provincias, y también varios venezolanos y peruanos que se sumaron a la aventura. Es hermoso poder vivirlo con personas de diferentes culturas.
El bus nos dejó justo frente al lago y ya sabíamos que la pasaríamos bien, solo bastaba con la vista desde la ventana. Estaba absolutamente soleado, pero de esos días soleados que van acompañados de una clima fresco, mejor imposible. Mi amigo Federico preparó unos ricos mates para compartir mientras disfrutábamos del día. Nos sentamos a contemplar la vista y alrededor nuestro muchas otras personas estaban haciendo lo mismo. Es un lugar ideal para eso, relajarse, compartir y respirar aire fresco.
Vimos gente pescando. Al parecer, es algo muy común en esa zona. En el momento hablé con una de las personas que estaban pescando y amablemente se tomó el tiempo de explicarme el tipo de pescados que ahí habían, pero no recuerdo el nombre de ninguno. Algo que brilló en todo momento es la amabilidad de su gente, como suele ser en Argentina en general.
Al frente del lago hay un cerro bajito, pero que igual regala una vista espectacular. Desde arriba se puede ver todo el lago, el dique, y también una estatua de Juan Fugl, un personaje importante en la historia de Tandil.
Y por supuesto, no podía faltar la foto en las letras de TANDIL. Son esas letras enormes, hechas de plantas, que están justo frente al lago. Todos quieren sacarse una foto ahí. Personalmente lo habría hecho si no hubiera tantas personas, pero me da un poco de ansiedad estar con tantas personas, así que preferí sacar mi foto desde lejos. Tomé una desde arriba, con todo el paisaje de fondo, y apenas la vi supe que iba a ser la portada de este post. Hermosa. Lástima que la cámara de mi teléfono no sea la mejor, igual creo que quedó hermosa.
Qué privilegio haber podido conocer Tandil. Qué hermoso cada rincón, el clima, las comidas, su gente, todo. Volveré.

A Visit to the Dique and Lake of Tandil
Another beautiful experience in Tandil. This time, we went to explore the Dique and the Lake — a stunning and special place, just like every corner of Tandil I've had the chance to visit so far.
We went as a group, like always, the same group I've been touring around with and that I’ve mentioned in my recent posts. Around thirty of us, more or less, and the great thing is there are people from all over. Some from Tandil, others from different provinces, and even a few Venezuelans and Peruvians joined the adventure. It's really beautiful to live these moments with people from different cultures.
The bus dropped us off right in front of the lake, and just from the view through the window, we already knew we were in for a good time. It was a sunny day — but that perfect kind of sunshine that comes with a fresh, crisp breeze. My friend Federico prepared some delicious mates to share while we soaked up the day. We sat down to enjoy the view, and all around us, lots of other people were doing the same. It’s the perfect spot for that — to relax, share, and breathe in the fresh air.
We saw a few people fishing too. Apparently, it’s pretty common in that area. I even spoke to one of them for a bit, and they kindly took the time to explain what kinds of fish were in the lake, but... I honestly can’t remember the name of a single one. What stood out, though, was how friendly people are — something that tends to be true all over Argentina.
Across the lake, there’s a small hill that offers an amazing view from the top. From up there, you can see the entire lake, the dam, and also a statue of Juan Fugl, an important figure in Tandil’s history.
And of course, the visit wouldn’t be complete without a photo at the TANDIL letters. You know, those big letters made of plants that sit right in front of the lake. Everyone wants to take a photo there. Personally, I would’ve done it too if it hadn’t been so crowded, but I get a bit anxious around too many people, so I decided to take a photo from afar instead. I took one from above, with the whole landscape in the background, and as soon as I saw it, I knew it had to be the cover photo for this post. It turned out beautiful. It’s a shame my phone camera isn’t the best, but I still think it captured the moment just right.
What a privilege it’s been to get to know Tandil. Every corner of it is charming — the weather, the food, the people, everything. I’ll be back.
