It's a pleasure to stop by and share my creation with you, inspired by the “Honey Bee Contest” as the main theme of our beloved community. As we know, bees are essential to biodiversity. They play a significant role in plants because, by pollinating, they contribute to the reproduction of seeds and fruits, providing us with food. In addition, they provide us with honey and wax, which are very useful in medicine and industry. One way to care for bees is to avoid using insecticides on plants, and another is to repopulate our forests by planting more flowers. In this way, we contribute to their continuing important work. >***Español*** > >#### **Reloj Biológico** >Un placer saludarles amigos de DIYHub, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien. Es un placer pasar y dejarles mi creación, inspirada en el “Honey Bee Contest” como tema principal de nuestra querida comunidad. Como sabemos, las abejas son parte esencial para la biodiversidad, en las plantas juegan su papel significativo porque, al polinizar, contribuyen a la reproducción de semillas y frutos logrando nuestro alimento. Además de ello, nos proporcionan miel y cera, que son de gran utilidad en la medicina y para la industria. Una forma de cuidar a las abejas es evitando utilizar insecticidas en las plantas, y otra es repoblar nuestros bosques, plantando más flores. De esta forma contribuimos a que sigan realizando un trabajo importante.   To create something, you need inspiration. On this occasion, what came to mind was to make a clock. I have had a clock mechanism for years. I used it when I used to do craft workshops. It has been stored away for a long time, no exaggeration, about twenty years, carefully and nothing more. I had been thinking for days about how to do it and how to involve our beautiful little bees in this object. So, I started my project, as always using recycled materials and adding some color. The result was a very simple piece of work; the materials I collected gave me the opportunity to create something beautiful, new, and very useful. >Para crear uno debe tener la inspiración. En esta ocasión lo que se me vino a la mente, fue hacer un reloj. Hace años que guardo una máquina de reloj, lo usaba en los tiempos que hacía talleres de manualidades, tiene mucho tiempo guardado, sin exagerar como veinte años, cuidado y no más. Llevaba día pensando, cómo lo hacía y cómo involucrar nuestras hermosas abejitas en este objeto. Así, que comencé mi proyecto, como siempre utilizando material para reciclar, y agregando algo de color. El resultado fue un trabajo muy sencillo; los materiales que recopilé, me brindaron la oportunidad de crear algo bonito, nuevo y de mucha utilidad.  Once I finished the work, I wanted to find out how to relate a clock to bees. As nature is wise, the clock was a brilliant idea, since I understood that these insects have an internal biological (circadian) clock that allows them to locate themselves in space and time to carry out their activities of both orientation and location. The sun is like a logbook for orientation, and their temporal memory helps them remember where the food is. In this way, they come and go at the same time, travel the same distance to find their food, and through rhythms or quick dances, they communicate, leaving and entering the colony in search of food. >Una vez que terminé el trabajo, quise indagar cómo relacionar un reloj con las abejas. Como la naturaleza es sabia, el reloj fue una idea genial, ya que comprendí, que estos incestos tienen un reloj biológico (circadiano) interno, que les permite ubicarse en espacio y tiempo para realizar sus actividades tanto de orientación como de ubicación, el sol es como una bitácora para orientarse y su memoria temporal, las ayuda a recordar donde está el alimento, de esa manera van y vienen a la misma hora, recorren la misma distancia para buscar su alimento y a través de ritmos o bailes rápidos, es la forma como se comunican, salen y entran a la colonia en busca de alimentos. Next, I'll show you how to do this project. >De seguida les muestro cómo hacer este proyecto. --- #### **Materials:** - Cardboard and bond paper - Used clock mechanism - Colors and markers - Pencil, ruler, scissors - Liquid glue and silicone gun - Used transparent folder - Disposable cake lid - Mold for making numbers - Disposable anime tray - Compass - Metal ring (yes, you need it) - Damaged CD (yes, you need it) --- > #### **Materiales:** >- Cartón y papel Bond >- Máquina de reloj usado Colores y marcadores >- Lápiz, regla, tijera >- Pega líquida y pistola de silicón >- Carpeta usada transparente >- Tapa de pastel desechable >- Molde para hacer los números >- Bandeja desechable de anime >- Compás >- Aro de metal (sí, hace falta) >- CD dañado (sí, hace falta)   --- **First:** draw the pattern on a white sheet of paper, then trace it onto thicker cardboard and paint it, improvising some details, flowers, and bushes. In this case, I made some little bees and glued them on. Use a compass to draw a circle on the transparent plastic and the cardboard base, then cut it out. >**Primero:** dibujamos en una hoja blanca el patrón, luego lo calcamos en un cartón más fuerte y pintamos, improvisando algunos detalles, flores y matas. En este caso, le hice unas pequeñas abejitas y pegué. Con el compás hacemos un redondel en el plástico transparente y en el cartón base, y cortamos.       **Second:** Now that everything is painted, we drill a hole in the center so we can install the clock mechanism. >**Segundo:** Ahora, todo pintado, abrimos un orificio en el centro para poder colocar la máquina del reloj.    **Third:** Now we make the numbers with the template and cut them out. >**Tercero:** Ahora hacemos los números con la plantilla y recortamos    **Fourth:** We stick the numbers where they belong and then stick the two shells on; we use silicone. We place the machine and the needles in the center. I tested it beforehand to see if it worked; luckily, it works very well. >**Cuarto:** Pegamos los números en donde corresponden y luego pegamos las dos caracas; utilizamos silicón. En el centro colocamos la máquina y las agujas. La probé antes, a ver si servía; por suerte funciona muy bien.       **Note:** as I progressed with the activity, I didn't need the ring or the CD. The cake lid, which I was going to throw away, came in handy; it was perfect as a base for the clock. I hope you like the result. >**Nota:** a medida que avanzaba en la actividad, el aro no me hizo falta, el CD tampoco. Me vino bien la tapa de torta, que iba a desechar; fue adecuada como base del reloj. Espero que les agrade el resultado.
