A beautiful red rag and pearl purse for a special gift (ENG/ESP)

Dearest greetings to all my creative people in this beloved art community. I hope you are all doing well, and that God bless you wherever you go, keeping you in good health and with great courage to carry out each task of the day with complete success. The project I'm sharing with you today is one I've been working on since the middle of last month, as a gift promise for one of my youngest nieces. Her birthday was last month, and she told me she would make her a red woven purse, like one her neighbor had that she used to play with. Little girls love to use purses to play with their friends and to go out. It was only yesterday that I managed to finish it. It's been a week now that I've been recovering from tendonitis in my right arm at the elbow. The pain was terrible, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't get dressed, eat, comb my hair, anything. That pain had me so distressed, it was so effective that there were times when painkillers wouldn't help. Thank God, I'm fine now. My arm is working and in action. Thank God, always, because it's still the same as tendonitis, and due to lack of rest, I'm very active and do many things at home and outside of it. I'm always restless, but sometimes I can't be so overly active. So I have to be more careful with the things I do. You don't know how much I missed knitting, sewing, cutting, writing, and being here with you again, sharing my Monday Needlework project. Without further ado, I'll tell you part of what it was like to make this red bag with rag yarn and white pearls. I hope you like it. The photographs you will see below were taken with my TECNO SPARK GO 2024 model phone. > Saludos apreciados para toda mi gente creativa de esta querida comunidad de arte, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, y que Dios los acompañe donde quiera que vayan, los mantenga con buena salud y mucho ánimo para desarrollar cada tarea del día con todo el éxito. > El proyecto que hoy les vengo a compartir es un proyecto que tenía encaminado desde la mitad del mes pasado, como promesa de regalo a una de mis sobrinas menores, que cumplió años el mes pasado y me dijo que le haría una cartera roja tejida, como una que tenía su vecina con la que ella se la pasó jugando, a las niñas les encanta usar carteras para jugar con sus amigas, y para salir de paseo. > Solo que ayer fue que logre terminarla, hace hoy 1 semana que me vengo recuperando de una tendinitis en mi brazo derecho a nivel del codo, el dolor fue terrible, no se lo deseo a nadie, no podía dormir, no me podía vestir, comer, peinarme, nada, ese dolor me tenía muy afligida fue efecto tanto que hubo momentos que los calmantes no me prestaban, gracias Dios, ya estoy bien, ya mi brazo está operativo y en acción, gracias a Dios siempre porque no paso de ser una tendinitis, y por falta de reposo, soy muy activa y hago muchas cosas en el hogar y fuera de él, siempre estoy inquieta, pero a veces no se puede abusar tanto. Así que debo ser más prudente con las cosas que hago. > No saben la falta que me hacía tejer, coser, cortar, escribir, y estar aquí nuevamente con ustedes, compartiendo mi trabajo de los lunes de agujas. Sin más preámbulos les contaré parte de lo que fue hacer este bolso rojo con trapillo y perlas blancas, espero les guste. > Las fotografías que verán a continuación, fueron tomadas con mi teléfono modelo TECNO SPARK GO 2024.

When I started making this bag, I had several ideas. One of them was to make it with plastic mesh, woven with the trapillo yarn. So, I started doing it that way. I actually cut the pieces to make the shape, but it didn't work out. The attempt was unsuccessful; it didn't turn out the way I had hoped. I gave up on that idea and thought of something easier. I also wanted to make a lining, but nothing I had thought of doing was feasible to begin with. However, keep the pearls, because they would be a key piece in part of the bag's decoration. > Cuando comencé a hacer esta cartera tenía varias ideas, una de ellas fue hacerla con malla de plástico, tejida con el trapillo, así que había comenzado a hacerla así, de hecho corte las piezas para hacer la forma, pero no me funciono, el intento fue fallido, no salía como yo pensaba, desistí de esta idea, y pensé en algo más fácil, también quería hacerle un forro y nada de lo que había pensado hacer fue factible para empezar. > Sin embargo, conserve las perlas, porque sí serian una pieza clave en parte de la decoración de la cartera.

In this second attempt, I started with a chain and slip stitch braid. As I progressed, I wasn't convinced, and I started over twice until I found the stitch that finally suited me. The stitch was a stitch I called a backstitch, since I made the two loops like a simple slip stitch. However, here, I left the loops and placed the needle in front, but passed the fabric through the back of the two loops. I continued knitting until I reached the desired size. > En este segundo intento comencé con una trenza de cadenas y puntos deslizados, durante el avance de este tejido, no me convenció, y comencé de nuevo, por 2 veces, hasta que pude encontrar el punto que me termino convenciendo. > El punto fue un punto al que le llame punto atrás, ya que hacía las 2 lazadas como cuando hacemos un punto simple deslizado, pero aquí dejaba las lazadas y coloca la aguja de frente, pero pasaba el trapillo desde atrás de las 2 lazadas así fui tejiendo hasta lograr el tamaño deseado.

Once the main fabric of the body of the bag was finished, I closed one of the sides and began knitting the lid of the bag with the same stitch I was using in this project. > Una vez terminada la tela principal del cuerpo de la cartera, cerré uno de los lados y comencé a tejer la tapa del bolso con el mismo punto que estaba usando en este proyecto.

After I finished knitting the purse lid, I turned the purse fabric over, and I loved the result. The stitch looked quite pretty; this stitch looks like little embedded hearts. > Después que termine de tejer la tapa de la cartera, le di la vuelta al tejido de la cartera, y el resultado me encanto, el punto se notaba bastante lindo, este punto se ve como pequeños corazones incrustados.

The next step was to use one of the clasps to place it in the center of the wallet for easy opening and closing. At that point, I would also begin to attach the decorative white pearls that would give this wallet that magical touch. Using a needle and white thread, I sewed the pearls onto the edge of the wallet's lid and then began braiding the wallet. > Lo siguiente fue utilizar uno de los broches, para colocarlo en el centro de esta cartera para abrirla y cerrarla fácilmente. > En ese momento también comenzaría a colocar las perlas blancas decorativas que le darían ese toque mágico a esta cartera, así que con una aguja con hilo de color blanco fui cociendo las perlas en el borde de la tapa de la cartera para luego ponerme a hacer la trenza de la cartera.

Making the braid was totally easy, I just wove a chain and for the other end I made slip stitches and increased the thickness of the braid for the purse, what followed was tying the braid to the strap and that's how the purse with its braid was ready. > Hacer la trenza fue totalmente fácil, solo tejí una cadena y para el otro extremo hice puntos deslizados y aumenté el grosor de la trenza para el bolso, lo que siguió fue atar la trenza a la correa y así quedó listo el bolso con su trenza.
