Hello coffee lovers! Let me tell you that I've been living in Brazil for two years, of which the last one has been even more meaningful. Each of the experiences I've added has strengthened my spirit, but I must give special credit to the people I have met along the way. I have surrounded myself with friends from Venezuela, a wonderful people who hold great affection for Cubans. They are hospitable, cheerful, and charismatic. Unfortunately, the course of life sometimes separates us from the people we love, perhaps even when we need them the most. One of my Venezuelan friends graduated and moved to another city. I miss him a lot, but he is better now, and that is what matters. We must keep the special moments we share in the place they deserve. And when I speak of special moments, I mean those times when we shared coffee and confidences. Here I show you some moments where we decided to dedicate some time to one cup and another, according to the nostalgia I feel for his presence in my everyday life.
First, a Cappuccino at “COAR cafetería,” a space with uncommon offerings in the city of Foz do Iguaçu, and with a retro and cozy aesthetic.
Second, a beautifully decorated cappuccino accompanied by the lemon cheesecake I adore. This time at the old “Deux,” a place that has been quite modernized, and today is called “Aloa Café.”
The last one was a beautiful Mooca cappuccino with a chocolate and cinnamon finish. It was served and excellently prepared at Damasco’s crêperie by my beloved Mayelín, a Cuban lady with angel hands. All these moments are filled with stories, tiredness, and affection between the coffee, my friend, and me. Confessions, academic advice, jokes, and all kinds of details that always lift our days to another level. That’s what our encounters are like. I keep saying it in the present with the hope of seeing each other again soon. Meanwhile, I wish you a wonderful day and an even better cup of coffee.
