I woke up at 4 am through the noisy alarm clock (I didn’t have a baby that time).We had a taping day for our music video at the church. When I was single, it was my habit to wake at 7-8 (unlike these days that I have a baby, I even awake at 2 am).I wanted to sleep more, but we’d be fetched by our churchmate at 6. It’ll be embarrassing if we’re late the fact that she spent gasoline just to come by the house. My chaperone was my little sister who has also a role in music videos. Our venue is at the farm just near the airport if you come to our place, Butuan. The farmland is mountainous which gives a dramatic view.
I could hear the panting of my little sister climbing to the top, yet she enjoyed the landscape. Only our group noticed the beauty of this farm in Butuan. No one lives here and nobody was there when we taped. By riding in a car, it only takes 10 minutes away from home. If someone lives in Butuan that goes to the Bancasi airport and is rushing, he can picture out this lovely scenery. It’s just along the shortcut road. This shortcut road is convenient for those who avoid traffic.
This is a group of young people at the church including my little sister. I am blessed that she’s a church active kid for the Lord says in Proverbs 22:6,
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Clearly speaking, God is protecting our children. He doesn't want them to grow in misery and foolishness.
Good parenting is bringing your child wherever you go to boost their confidence. I’m not my little sister’s parent but I’m very concerned about what will she become, so if there are gatherings, she is with me all the time. On our taping, she was confident even if she there were only a few lyric she remembered.
We’re all set and we took a picture for a memorabilia.The kids; they may look younger in this picture,but this is five years ago. They have been teenagers these days including my little sister who was just nine years old that time. This year, she will be 15. These pictures were taken before pandemic. While I look at how fast they've grown, I also realized I'm too old now. But it's okay because I have a baby who is my source of joy.
Inside the car is my ate Stella driving. We talked about a lot of things. She is a mom with only one daughter. I was 28 years old that time and single, but I can still remember her advices in parenting. She said that if one day I'll have a baby, I should change my negative behavior because I'll be a role model of my child. She also asked if she could be my baby’s God mother in Christening. I just laughed ‘coz I thought it wouldn't happen. I thought, I'll be a single forever. I thought I will never have a baby. But life is full of surprises. We cannot control our destiny. But, didn't I really control it when I trusted myself more instead of waiting in God’s plan?
