After I joined hive newly, I was so excited that I couldn’t keep it to myself. I felt this joy and curiosity bubbling inside me, so I decided to invite a few of my friends to join too. I took my time to call and chat with some of them, explaining the little I knew back then. I tried my best to share my excitement and the opportunities I saw in being part of this amazing platform. However, to my surprise, almost all of them responded with the same question,“How fast can I cash out?” It was quite discouraging to realize that most of them were only interested in platforms that could make them quick money. No one seemed genuinely interested in learning, growing, or creating value first.
The only person who gave me a listening ear was one of my childhood friends who said he was more into music than writing. That gave me a bit of hope. I immediately told him about 3Speak, I wanted him to see that there was a space for his passion too. To encourage him, I took extra steps by screenshoting some posts, shared a few inspiring videos, and even sent him links that could help him understand how it all worked. He seemed interested and assured me that he would go through all the links and videos.
I kept persuading him from time to time because I believed it could really benefit him. But as the days went by, I began to feel like I was disturbing him. He wasn’t responding with the same energy anymore, so I decided to give him some space. I intentionally stopped talking about it for a few weeks because I didn’t want to choke him with persuasion.
After some weeks, I reached out again just to remind him, hoping maybe he had made progress. But this time, he told me he hadn’t joined yet because he wanted to buy a new guitar first. That was the last time we discussed it because i didn't know his savings plans. I don't want to put him under pressure. Uptill now, I’m still waiting for him to get that brand-new guitar. I honestly don’t know how long it will take, but I still hope he eventually buys it and joins.
