Every morning, I rise up early. Some days, I don’t feel like leaving the bed, but I still have to. I need to prepare school lunch for my children, get things ready before they leave, and also do some house chores before stepping out of the house myself. Life feels like a cycle of constant responsibilities.
I never imagined adulthood could be this stressful. As a child, I always wanted to grow up fast, thinking it would be all fun and freedom. But now, I truly understand what it means to cater for young ones who are also looking up to me. Ironically, they too are eager to grow up quickly, just like I once was.
If only they knew that being an adult comes with countless responsibilities, endless sacrifices, and very little time for self-care. Yet, in the midst of the stress, I remind myself that my sacrifices are shaping their future and teaching them what responsibility really means. Adulthood may not be as easy as I once thought, but it is full of lessons, strength, and moments that remind me why I keep rising up every single day.
