Little Habits and Traditions That Shape Me,

Hello India United community, hope everyone is doing good?

I so enthralled by this topic when I saw it so this is my take on it.

There are certain things we do in life that might look small to others, but to us they carry real meaning. For me, one of those things is my night reading. I made a decision some time ago that no matter how my day goes, by 10pm I must open a book. Even if I manage to read only a page, I keep to it. At first, it felt like just a random challenge, but over time it has turned into a ritual that I actually look forward to

It’s funny how just one page every night has changed the way I think. Some days I go further than a page because I get lost in the story or idea, other days my eyes are already heavy with sleep and I can barely focus. But what makes me proud is not the number of pages, it’s the fact that I kept my promise to myself. That small consistency gives me a sense of control and discipline

Books have always been a quiet friend to me. Through them, I have travelled to places I may never visit in real life, I have learned from people I may never meet, and I have found answers to questions I didn’t even know how to ask. Reading every night feels like ending the day on a peaceful note, and I honestly can’t imagine dropping this ritual anymore

On the other hand, there is one tradition that always makes me smileweddings. It may sound surprising because I am not really the romantic type, but I admire weddings a lot. The joy in the air, the dancing, the laughter, the beautiful outfits, the way two families come together, it always feels like a reminder of how sweet life can be

The irony here is that even though I love weddings so much, I hardly attend them. Most times I prefer to just see the pictures online or hear the gist later. Maybe it’s because of my quiet nature, maybe because I don’t like crowds too much, but somehow I still find myself drawn to the whole idea of weddings. They symbolize love, unity, and fresh beginnings, and that’s something I really value. * So yes, my ritual is my night reading at 10pm, and the tradition that warms my heart is weddings, even if I am not always present physically. Both of them, in different ways, shape who I am and how I see life*
