Saludos y bendiciones, mis queridos amigos de @diyhub. Un gusto visitarlos en este día en el que vengo por aquí a compartirles un pequeño paso a paso de una restauración que estuve haciendo anoche a una imagen que tengo en casa de nuestro querido Santo José Gregorio Hernández, justamente hoy es el día de su canonización en el Vaticano, al igual que también fue canonizada nuestra Santa Madre Carmen Rendiles, por lo cual todos los venezolanos devotos estamos felices, llenos de fe, por este acto tan importante que hemos venido esperando durante tantos años, gracias a Dios que ya se dio y hoy estamos de fiesta, de júbilo nacional por esta gran noticia.   
Aquí en casa está una imagen que está tallada en piedra, si es una piedra bastante pesada en la que hicieron en relieve el cuerpo de San José Gregorio Hernández, yo la tenía ahí en un pequeño altar con la virgen cita del Valle, pero esta imagen estaba ya bastante deteriorado, tenía muchos años y desde cuándo tenían ganas de restaurarla, de echarle una pintura, pero la verdad es que no la había comprado. Este fin de semana quise comprarla y otra vez se me olvidó, pero recordé, o mejor dicho, busqué entre mis cosas y conseguir algunas pinturas y con eso me puse manos a la obra. No tenía color gris, que era el color en el que estaba, como pueden ver, y el negro que tenía tampoco era de muy buena calidad. Así que hice una liga de varios colores, beige, azul y negro, para darle ese toque que tomó. Además, quería echarle plateado, pero estaba seco, así que el dorado vino al rescate. Primero le eché toda la capa que, según yo, era gris, aunque se veía más azul que gris. Mi hija Ámbar me estuvo ayudando y mi hija Arianna también le dimos varias capas para que tapara todas las imperfecciones. Luego, con el pincel negro, le fuimos dando otro toque, porque quería que se viera aparecido a cómo estaba, aunque no lo logramos, el resultado también quedó bien.   
Luego, con la pintura dorada, le dimos el toque final. Se veía bien bonito con ese brillo que le daba un poco más de vistosidad. Luego a mi princesa Arianna se le ocurrió que era bueno pintarle el sombrero negro característico de nuestro querido San José Gregorio Hernández y luego también le pinté los zapatos y así sobresalía más en la imagen. Pero bueno ahora yo siento que quedó mucho más lindo, quedó con más vida y lo coloqué en mi sala en un lugar cito al lado de la ventana en donde está como si fuera un pequeño altar con las vírgenes citas del Valle y una imagen de nuestro señor Jesucristo con algunas matas de mi pequeño jardín en el balcón del apartamento. Cuando se hicieron las 12 de la noche o de la madrugada aquí en nuestro querido país Venezuela, ya era 19 de octubre, el día de su canonización. Así que le prendí una vela y oré, ore muchísimo, pedí por mi país, por mi ciudad, por mi familia, porque todos tengamos salud, bienestar, paz, amor, prosperidad y porque cada día seamos mejores personas, de fe, creyentes y con amor de Dios y a las demás personas. Bueno, amigos, esto ha sido todo por hoy. Espero que le guste esta publicación. Que nuestros queridos Santos venezolanos reinen en todos los hogares de nuestro país. English  # ***Restoring an image of Saint José Gregorio Hernández*** 
Greetings and blessings, my dear friends at @diyhub. It is a pleasure to visit you on this day, as I come here to share with you a small step-by-step guide to a restoration I was doing last night on an image I have at home of our beloved Saint José Gregorio Hernández. Today is the day of his canonization in the Vatican, just as our Saint Mother Carmen Rendiles was also canonized, which is why all of us devout Venezuelans are happy, full of faith, for this important event that we have been waiting for for so many years. Thank God it has finally happened, and today we are celebrating with national joy for this great news.   
Here at home, there is an image carved in stone, a rather heavy stone on which the body of Saint José Gregorio Hernández is carved in relief. I had it there on a small altar with the Virgin of Cita del Valle, but this image was already quite deteriorated. It was many years old, and I had wanted to restore it, to paint it, but the truth is that I had not bought it. This weekend I wanted to buy it and again I forgot, but I remembered, or rather, I looked through my things and found some paints and got to work. It didn't have any gray, which was the color it was, as you can see, and the black it had wasn't very good quality either. So I made a mixture of several colors, beige, blue, and black, to give it that touch it needed. I also wanted to add silver, but it was dry, so gold came to the rescue. First, I applied a coat of what I thought was gray, although it looked more blue than gray. My daughter Amber helped me, and my daughter Arianna also helped. We applied several coats to cover all the imperfections. Then, with the black paintbrush, we added another touch because I wanted it to look like it did before, although we didn't quite achieve that, the result was still good.   
Then, with the gold paint, we added the finishing touch. It looked really nice with that shine that made it a little more eye-catching. Then my princess Arianna thought it would be a good idea to paint the black hat characteristic of our beloved San José Gregorio Hernández, and then I also painted his shoes so that he would stand out more in the image. But now I feel that it is much prettier, it has more life, and I placed it in my living room in a spot next to the window where it is like a small altar with the virgins of the Valley and an image of our Lord Jesus Christ with some plants from my small garden on the balcony of the apartment. When it was midnight or early morning here in our beloved country of Venezuela, it was already October 19, the day of his canonization. So I lit a candle and prayed, prayed a lot, prayed for my country, for my city, for my family, for us all to have health, well-being, peace, love, prosperity, and for us to be better people every day, people of faith, believers, and with love for God and other people.
