Hello, Hive Family!
I’m so grateful to finally be here and share my story with this amazing community. My name is Leigh, and this marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life—one filled with healing, hustle, and hope.
My Journey So Far
I’m a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in English, and spent four fulfilling years as a classroom teacher. Later, I shifted to the BPO industry, where I worked from September 2012 until June 2025. Last year, I moved to a new house which is far from my workplace. That’s the reason why I decided to resign, due to the long daily commute. Since then, I’ve been searching for a permanent work-from-home opportunity.

This year has tested me in ways I never imagined. In July, I lost my beloved father. As the eldest child and breadwinner of our family, I had to shoulder all the financial responsibilities—from his hospitalization to his burial—using the savings I had from my previous job. I remain childless at 39, having carried many family burdens since I started working. I’m currently navigating through a mountain of loans, but I’m determined to rise again.
🕊️ Inheritance — A Poem for My Father I wrote this poem to honor my father’s love and the quiet strength he passed on to me.

A Day in My Life: From Fur baby Cuddles to Freelance Hustles
My days are a mix of quiet reflection and determined hustle. I wake up around 6:30 AM, greeted by my fluffy Chow Chow, my loyal companion and emotional support. We take a short walk, and I savor the calm before the day begins.

After breakfast, I dive into content creation for my social media accounts. It’s a creative outlet that keeps me connected and inspired. Then comes the freelance grind—answering surveys, exploring affiliate marketing, and applying for online jobs. Sometimes, I also serve as a substitute ESL tutor to few students(private) if my friend cannot accommodate them. Every small win feels like a step forward.
In the afternoon, I take time to read or write. I’ve always loved crafting short stories and poems. They help me process my emotions and find meaning in the chaos. My fur baby often joins me for cuddles or playtime, reminding me that joy can be found in the simplest moments.
Evenings are for reflections. I journal, set intentions, and sometimes draft ideas for my next posts. Life isn’t easy right now, but I’m learning to find beauty in the struggle.
My Goals on Hive
I am onboarded by @antonette. We met through Facebook and she oriented me how Hive works. She also mentioned to me the importance of abiding to the rules of Hive (e.g., no using of AI in posts, no plagiarism, ensuring quality posts and engagements, using own original pictures, etc.) Special thanks as well to @chinito for being such a great inspiration. Furthermore, I joined Hive to heal, grow, and connect. Here’s what I hope to achieve:
• Share my original short stories and poems to inspire and connect with readers • Learn from fellow creators and improve my writing and content creation skills • Build a supportive network of friends and collaborators • Explore monetization opportunities to help ease my financial burdens • Post about my daily life, including fun moments with my Chow Chow • Engage with the community through posts about basketball, freelancing, and personal growth
A Few Things I Love
• Watching basketball games (especially those buzzer-beaters) • Creating content for my social media accounts • Playing with my fluffy fur baby • Reading and writing short stories and poems • Exploring online opportunities like freelancing, affiliate marketing, and surveys

Let’s Connect!
I’m here not just to write, but to listen, learn, and grow with this amazing community. If you’ve made it this far, thank you! I’d love to hear from you in the comments. Let’s support each other and make Hive a space where stories, struggles, and dreams are all welcome. Kindly note, too, that all my photos I share here are mine but enhanced by the user-friendly CollageArt. Here’s to new beginnings, healing, and hope! — @leighdalisay
