Greetings, Hive Pets Community! Hello, Hive Family!
Today was bath day for my furbaby, Cardo, my majestic, moody, and sometimes mischievous Chow Chow. If you’ve ever tried bathing a Chow Chow, you know it’s not just a routine. It’s a full-blown negotiation.
From the moment I mentioned the word “bath,” Cardo gave me his signature lion face, that fierce, regal glare that says, “Not today, hooman.” I tried reasoning with him, persuading him with treats, even sweet-talking him like a toddler. But Cardo? He stood his ground. It took me nearly 20 minutes of coaxing, dodging, and strategic planning before I finally got him into the bathroom. And no, he didn’t say yes. I just had to take the plunge!
To keep things safe, I used his pambusal (a soft muzzle I bought online) because, truth be told, Cardo has bitten me more than once. I’ve had my complete vaccinations: anti-rabies and anti-tetanus; because being a fur mom to a Chow Chow isn’t for the faint of heart. They’re known for their strong personalities and aren’t exactly beginner-friendly. But I welcomed Cardo into my life knowing all that. I accepted the challenge, and I’ve never looked back.
Despite the bites, the growls, and the lion stares, I love Cardo with all my heart. He’s more than just a pet. He’s my emotional support, especially now as I continue to heal from the loss of my father last July. Cardo has been there through the tears, the silence, and the lonely nights. His presence, even when grumpy, brings me comfort.
After the bath, which felt like a mini workout, I dried his thick fur with the blower. And just like that, the fierce lion turned into a sleepy bear. He curled up and drifted into a deep, peaceful sleep, as if the whole ordeal never happened.

Thank you for reading this little slice of our life. Cardo may be a handful, but he’s my handful, and I wouldn’t trade him for anything. 😇
