Hello Hive Family/Freewriters Community! Before I share my short poem to you which I composed last night, let me introduce myself first as part of the community rules. My name is Leigh, a freelance ESL teacher, writer by heart, data entry specialist, affiliate, content creator, and a proud fur mom. Actually, I have already shared my introduction post last week when I was onboarded here. Yeah, you've read it right. I'm a newbie in this platform.

I'm truly grateful to @antonette and @chinito for introducing me this online system which I can consider as my new family, an additional to my real family and friends. I'm blessed meeting hivers and writers here. Be part of my inspiration in bringing back the "writer" in me. I have almost forgotten this passion of mine because I was so busy with my BPO work for almost 13 years. Now, I guess, I have enough time to unleash the other side of me, being an author/writer. I used to write short stories, poems, novels, and articles starting high school to college, even part of our school publication.

Anyways, going back, here are the stanzas of my short poem which I want to dedicate to all of you who welcomed me here in Hive. You're such an emotional support to me while I'm still in the midst of my healing journey due to the passing of my father.

Kindly accept my apology just in case the texts are not readable on your end. Honestly, editing photos is not really my forte. I think you can clearly read them using your laptops. But for the sake of those who are fond of using their mobile phones to browse and support blogs, here's my complete poem in pure text format for your reference. Thank you and happy reading! 😇

To My Hive of Hope

I came with grief too big to name, A daughter lost, yet still the same; The eldest child, the steady hand, Now trembling in unfamiliar land.

Since July’s end, my world is gone still, My father’s voice, my guiding will; Is now a whisper in the breeze, Yet I must rise, though not with ease.

Then Hive appeared, a gentle shore, Where strangers opened healing doors; Your kindness wrapped my aching soul, And helped me feel a little whole.

Each word you shared, each quiet cheer, Made heavy days feel less severe; You saw my heart, though new I came, And welcomed me without a name.

So, thank you all, from depths unseen, For holding space where I have been; Your light has helped me find my way, One post, one breath, one healing day.

NOTE: All the photos shared are mine, originally captured using my mobile phone; just enhanced using the user-friendly CollageArt.
