Guided Walkthrough: How to Swap on THORChain
1). Connect a Wallet
Start by connecting with your favorite wallet. For this tutorial, I'll use Keystore.
2). Pick a Route & Amount
Click on the asset selector and choose the two assets you want to swap. LeoDex offers a few sorting methods. By default, it will sort the top balances in your wallet from top to bottom (in USD terms).
3). Click "Swap" to Confirm and Swap
Clicking Swap will show you a final confirmation window. This will show you what you're swapping, how much you will receive and the expected fees. You can also click to expand the memo to see the exact memo that is getting sent to THORChain if you want to triple verify that everything is right.
Once you're happy with the details, click swap to finalize it.
4). Done! Track it On the Explorer
Your swap is now complete - yes, it is literally that easy! - we utilize XScanner for the "View in Explorer" link that allows you to track the lifecycle of your swap in real time.
Using this swap as an example, you can see everything happening in real-time by clicking "View in Explorer" after completing your THORChain swap.
FAQs
Do I need to connect a wallet?
No - you can actually swap without connecting a wallet for certain routes. This uses our "QR 2 Swap" feature. You can also choose WalletConnect which allows you to connect with nearly any wallet. If neither of these suit your needs, then simply connect using one of the wallet connection methods on the UI.
Why is there a wait sometimes?
Depending on the size of your swap, LeoDex will optimize the streaming swap feature of THORChain to get you the best price execution for your swap. This might mean waiting a few minutes or longer depending on the swap size and pool depth of the asset you're swapping. Typically, any swaps under $100k are executed in just a few minutes or less while larger $1M+ swaps may take longer.
What's a Streaming Swap and when should I use it?
A Streaming Swap breaks your larger swap into subswaps to get optimal execution. LeoDex's default operation is to autonomously optimize your streaming swap settings to get you the best execution on your THORChain swap.
