Greetings, my dear friends Hivers and Home Edders; it's a pleasure, after so much time and effort, to be able to write this article today. School classes have ended for the school year, but at home we're still very active, learning as always. This time, I want to share with you part of my 6-year-old daughter's closing preschool project, titled: Journey in the Jungle.

**_Saludos mis estimados amigos Hivers y de Home Edders; es un gusto luego de tanto tiempo y ocupaciones poder redactar este contenido en el día de hoy. Las clases en las escuelas han terminado por este año escolar, pero en casa seguimos muy activas como siempre aprendiendo. En esta oportunidad quiero compartirles parte de lo que fue el cierre de proyecto escolar de mi pequeña de 6 años en el preescolar; titulado: Viaje en la selva.

And let me tell you, this project was a jungle and creative adventure for us, the mothers of each boy and girl, too, since we had to be creative to help them with their final school project presentation. My little one had to select her favorite animal and, based on that, study its habitat, characteristics, food sources, and much more. For her, the cutest and funniest of all was the monkey; so, we got to work creating its costume.

**_Y déjenme decirle que este proyecto fue toda una aventura selvática y creativa para nosotras las mamis de cada niño y niña también, puesto que nos tocaba ser creativas para ayudarles en su presentación de cierre de proyecto escolar. Mi pequeña debía seleccionar el animal que más le gusta y en base a este estudiar su hábitat, características, de qué se alimenta y mucho más... Para ella el más lindo y divertido de todos es el "mono"; por lo que, nos pusimos manos a la obra en crear su traje.

Once I had the black bases for the top (a bodysuit) and the bottom (pants), I proceeded to take a black cap, which I use to cover my hair to keep it dry or curl it; to glue on this the face of our monkey, made with foam and brown paper from the flour sacks; with the help of markers, I painted the eyes and nose. Using the same brown paper that I used to make the face, I also made the belly of our monkey; finally, we added details like the bows on the ears and the tail with a wire covered in black foam.

**_Una vez teniendo las bases negras de la parte superior (Un body), como la inferior (pantalón), procedí a tomar un gorrito negro con el que cubro mi cabello para mantener mi secado o rollitos; para pegar en este el rostro de nuestra mona, elaborado con foamy y papel en tono marrón de los bultos de harina; con ayuda de marcadores pinte los ojos y nariz. Con el mismo papel en tono marrón con que elabore el rostro también la barriga de nuestra mona; ya de último colocamos detalles como los lazos en las orejas y la colita con un alambre forrado en foamy negro.

Not only did everything end there, but many days before this presentation, the children had to bring a poster or speaker about their chosen jungle animal and explain to the classroom teachers everything they would say on the day of the project presentation. In addition to all this, I also went to support the teachers in setting up and decorating the classroom with my father, who had the brilliant idea of creating a tree in the corner with vines for his little granddaughter's presentation.

**_No solamente todo quedo allí, antes de esta presentación con muchos días de antelación, los pequeños debían llevar una lamina o hablador sobre su animal elegido de la selva y explicarle a las maestras del aula, todo lo que el día de la presentación del proyecto como tal iban a decir. Sumado a todo esto, también fui a apoyar a las maestras en la ambientación y decoración del salón de clases junto a mi padre, quien tuvo la genial idea de realizar un árbol en la esquina con lianas para la exposición de su pequeña nieta.

When the day arrived, each little one donned their costume, some with great enthusiasm, others embarrassed or somewhat uncomfortable; but it's all part of the growth process, adaptations, overcoming fears, part of the significant learning that leaves its mark on them and which they so enjoy. As a mother, I felt very proud of my little one's excellent performance; at barely 6 years old, she handles herself so well in public and is very good at explaining her favorite animal, the monkey.

**_Llegado el día cada pequeño lucía su traje, unos con gran ánimo, otros apenados o con cierta incomodidad; pero todo forma parte del proceso de crecimiento, adaptaciones, para romper con sus miedos, parte de los aprendizajes significativos que dejan huellas en ellos y que disfrutan a su vez tanto. Como madre me sentí muy orgullosa de la manera tan excelente que lo hizo mi pequeña,; con apenas 6 añitos se desenvuelve tan bien en público y explico muy bien a su animal favorito "el mono".

What does a trip to the jungle teach them?
#
- They learn about a completely green ecosystem.
- The jungle is a very varied, engaging, and mysterious subject for children; therefore, it allows them to discover great things about this ecosystem.
- Children can learn every detail or descriptive characteristic of the jungle, such as: the climate, humidity, abundant rainfall, temperature, and the type of dense vegetation that covers it.
- This type of project sparks their creativity and curiosity to ask questions about this ecosystem. They learn about the variety of plants found there: vines, ferns, mosses, the giant Rafflesia flower, famous for its unpleasant smell, and exotic orchids.
- It allows them to enjoy wearing creative and eye-catching costumes of animals studied in class and of their choice; this sparks their imagination and confidence.
- Presenting projects helps them gain confidence, greatly develops their communication skills, strengthens their social skills, and bolsters their self-confidence.

¿Qué les enseña el viaje en la selva?
#
- Aprenden sobre un ecosistema completamente verde.
- La selva es un tema de estudio muy variado, llamativo y lleno de misterios para los niños; así que, les permite descubrir grandes cosas de este ecosistema.
- Los niños pueden aprender cada detalle o características descriptivas de la jungla o selva, tales como: el clima,la humedad, lluvias abundantes, temperatura y el tipo de vegetación densa que la reviste.
- Este tipo de proyectos despierta su creatividad y curiosidad de preguntar sobre este ecosistema. Aprenden la variedad de plantas que en estese encuentran: Lianas, helechos, musgos, la flor gigante y famosa por su mal olor llamada flor Rafflesia y las orquídeas exóticas.
- Les permite poder disfrutar de usar trajes creativos y llamativos de animales estudiados en clase y de su preferencia; los cuales despiertan la imaginación y la confianza.
- Realizar exposiciones en los proyectos hace que adquieran seguridad, trae consigo un gran desarrollo en sus habilidades comunicativas, fortalecimiento de sus habilidades sociales y fortalece su confianza en sí mismos.

> As a mother, it's a real pleasure for me to be able to be actively involved in my two daughters' school activities. Our presence at their events and school presentations is a great encouragement, and it also warms their hearts, strengthening family bonds and connections. Our children grow so quickly, almost in the blink of an eye. Therefore, as adults, despite our commitments, we must organize and plan so that our little ones feel and see the great example of parents and guardians committed to their progress, growth, development, and success. Let us continue to advance with love in the upbringing and development of our little ones!

**_Como madre para mí es todo un gusto poder estar activa siempre en cuanto a las actividades escolares de mis dos niñas; la presencia nuestra en sus actos y presentaciones en la escuela es un gran estímulo; sumado a que alegra sus corazones fortaleciendo los lazos y conexiones familiares. Nuestros hijos crecen muy rápido, casi como un abrir y cerrar de ojos; por lo que debemos como adultos a pesar de nuestros compromisos, organizarnos y planificarnos de manera que nuestros pequeñines sientan y vean el gran ejemplo de padres y representantes comprometidos con ellos, en su avance,crecimiento, formación y éxitos. ¡Sigamos con amor avanzando en la crianza y formación de nuestros pequeños!_**
