Looking up at blue skies adorned with fluffy clouds casually wandering across the horizon take us away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. They can have a calming effect on the mind. In that calmness we can empty our mind and let our imagination play as we look for shapes in the clouds. It's a great exercise of our minds to see things differently.
I spent some time going through my photos I've shot over the past while. There's an endless amount of good sky images to paint, however, I quickly realised that I could easily spend a great deal of time simply sorting images and not actually get anything done. It was better just to start one so I cold finish it and move on to the next.
Completing projects is the most important action when creating artwork, otherwise, there's nothing ever to see.
As I mentioned in the previous post, I'm using these simple frames to "finish" the artworks. There's a big advantages to creating artworks of similar formats. They look fantastic when all lined up on an exhibition wall and you can have a stockpile of frames on hand that will fit.
It's time to move onto the next artwork. See you then!
