Greetings Readers
Excuse my grubby face, but I had to share how big and cuddly Snaffie is becoming. He is enjoying more solid food now, and no longer needs me to wake up in the middle of the night to feed him. He is growing up so fast!
I have spent the last few weekends working hard on what is coming next once Saita's part of the adventure comes to an end. There is an entire short story about Kay coming, and I hope you all look forward to it!
“Are you sure that is what you want to do?” asked the Balance Dragon. “I could take her with me. Take her to a place where…”
“No, you were right. She needs an opportunity to regain some kind of humanity, and the only person I can think of who has that amount of capacity for forgiveness is her.” Said Saita.
The Balance Dragon sighed heavily and shrugged before muttering, “Well, they never did find a body.”
“They went looking?”
“Gatex did. He never found anything. And if your plan works, then it makes sense.”
“How did you handle her?”
The Balance Dragon shook her head, “It doesn’t matter, our circumstances vary drastically. And soon, your choices will override what I did.”
“And you still won’t tell me what you did?”
The Balance Dragon shook her head.
“And the twins? You agree about them.”
“Yes, I sat them down last night and we discussed it. They will go to the Saith court in your current timeline. With you not traveling within your own time, they will be valuable assets, especially if things go sideways. Which they won’t!” The Balance Dragon threw her hands up.
“It was you who saved them, wasn’t it?”
“Us. You will make the decision too. You must have figured out by now that was how Brucel came back.”
Saita nodded her head sadly.
“I know you and they want more time together, but this isn’t the time for that. The time maw grows, and you and your son have a very short window in which to use your favours.”
“And Red-Eye?”
The Balance Dragon sighed, “As much as I would love for him to accompany Kay, he has to go back. He has cubs he needs to father, and those cubs will need to raise packs. She will need to let him go.”
“It’s going to be tough. She’s already been grumpy about not getting an opportunity to say goodbye to Fledge.”
The Balance Dragon nodded her head, “I could just take Red-Eye back when I take the twins.”
“No, I’ll do it. It’ll be good practice and will allow her to say goodbye to him.” “Are you ready to say goodbye?”
She shook her head, “These last hundred years without Bolx have been dark and filled with longing. Saying goodbye to him will be like him dying again.”
“You know, you don’t need to remain alone.”
“Did you ever find anyone?”
The Balance Dragon, knowing that she was caught out, shook her head. “No one made my heart dance quite like he did. That doesn’t mean it will be the same for you. Anyway, you have work to do, and it’s time to prepare everyone.”
I hope you all enjoyed the update. More is coming!
