Oil on linen, 16"x20" An old barn on an abandoned, overgrown acreage near Traer, Iowa, USA. I painted this this morning, which is a much smaller canvas than I've been painting recently to see what results I would get. Specifically, if it would be easier to get good results. A smaller canvas does take less effort and skill, but since it's much less area to deal with, it does take less energy and time to take it as far as I can. So in a sense it was easier. It still takes focus and all of my best effort however. For me, I'll always be a student of painting, working every day to increase my skills in the effort to reach mastery.
