"Where's the Nurse?"

@lgseebach · 2025-08-02 19:55 · OnChainArt

Oil on linen, 38"x46" Inspired by Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" film, 1968, starring Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting. In the story, Juliet is anxious for her nurse to return after sending her off to find Romeo so they can get married. (She sent him at 9am and it's nearly noon.) This is the morning after their meeting at the Capulet dance and the famous balcony scene. She's frustrated and annoyed that the nurse hasn't returned yet thinking that it should not be taking this long.

(This study was inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, created for personal practice and artistic skill advancement only, was wiped off immediately after completed, is not affiliated with the 1968 film, is not intended to be sold or profited from financially in any way, and was painted for my own purposes and published on this social platform to share my artistic progress with my followers in the spirit of "fair use". Further, it is my artistic interpretation of a scene from a film I appreciate. I hope it is viewed with the spirit in which it was intended to be shared.)
