Dream HOME? Finally had it.

Growing up, I never liked rainy season for two reasons; first it means starvation and second no decent sleep. As someone who was born in the family with no stable and decent income, food most of the time was scarce. We never experience having a whole fish for a viand nor a piece of sunny side up egg. Rice? It was our Mother, or older sister will be the one to serve us and no more extra. This is on normal days and what more if it's raining?

Our Mom couldn't go to Iloilo to sell, no income, no food. Not only that but we are nestled in an area of the house that is dry. Free from leaks of rain water. The problem was, it was too small, crowded for a family of ten.

That is why, it's been my dream to live in a decent home. In which, I could peacefully sleep even if there is a typhoon and won't run out of food.

I know sometime ago, either me or my sister @asiaymalay shared a photo of our house here. Walls made in wood and bamboo that are worn out, braces that are barely hanging, leaking roofs. Mind you that was already a decent house for years. We hold a lot of memories during the time that Grandma, some of our Uncles are still alive, we are still studying, nieces are still kids and many more. If only our Father, he wanted it to be renovated but too impossible.

Years of hard work along with my siblings we were able to build a HOME for our parents. Though it was not yet fully furnished, it is now made in concrete.

There are rooms a small living room situated outside.

Just a glimpse and let Caleb be the model, lol! Here we have a cushion L-type sofa where our parents could sit while watching TV. Never mind the dirt, that slimes of our nephew Kyle.

This year, we managed to continue the construction for the living room, dining and kitchen.

I bought a bamboo sala set, so we will have chairs here to sit and rest.

There is still a lot to work on, like wall finishing, painting, ceiling but I can say we are living in our dream HOME.

What made me feel teary eyed was, finally we had water lines inside the home. There are faucets in the bathroom, zinc and SHOWER.

I grew up that water is scarce and now having this in our bathroom was a huge achievement.

My nephew was so excited about it that he took a bath after knowing (he arrived from school.)

Now, even though  the weather isn't fine, we are not worried about our parents.

What about me? My dream house?

I don't have a specific design, I just wanted a bathroom inside my room . Thanks to my husband for understanding my whims but it was also so convenient as we have a baby.

Not that huge but this was the product of our hard work (more on the husbands.) I really appreciate all his efforts just to ensure that Caleb and I are living comfortably.
