As I mentioned here, my son and I travelled back since our vacation was over. I woke up early and prepared even though our flight was at four in the afternoon. We still need to travel by land - sea - land before reaching the airport.
Our suitcase weighed at least 20kgs. From home, it was my younger brother who carried it and upon reaching the port, it was my niece Jen. Her sister Alex, couldn't lift heavy objects due to health reasons.
Thankfully, the port now was renovated and convenient to travel. Cemented pavements were covered with canopies.
The landmark that you are at Jordan Guimaras, the ruins of a sugar factory. It has been there since I can remember.
My nieces are all studying in Iloilo and even my sisters are all working there. Both of them mentioned how rough the ride was on the fiber boats. Strong winds, huge waves that even other passengers are already praying for safety. Before, I didn't mind and even enjoyed it but not this time.
After getting our tickets, Jen ushered me to which boat we will be riding. Unlike before the boats were also upgraded and there are even ships if you want to. Thus, Fiber is faster. Took only fifteen minutes from Guimaras to Iloilo.
We stopped by at Jollibee for lunch and then travelled again to the Airport.
This is what my toddler has been doing all throughout the ride. He would go to his cousin Alex, back to me walking back and forth inside the car.
Not a rush hour so the road was almost empty.
Too bad I didn't even get a chance to visit tourist spots or even malls here in Iloilo. Not even meeting the Hiveph lead due to some family issues. For years, the city has been progressive, huge buildings, and different establishments have been built. Those vacant grassy lands now rise downtown or residentials.
Upon reaching the airport, now the problem was only the passengers were allowed to get in. Thus, it was hard for me since I was carrying Caleb plus the luggage. Few conversations and little gaslighting by the guard allowed me to bring one companion. I really appreciate it.
Printed my bag tag here.
I dropped my luggage, did an online check in.
The struggles. Jen bids goodbye and takes this photo. Just done checking in and going upstairs for the boarding gate. I felt worn out already .
Yet, that was only the start of the real struggles that started here.
Unlike when we travelled going home in Guimaras, he was still learning to walk, balancing. Now after a month, he COULD and won't stay still. Even pushing someone's luggage.
What's worse, our flight was delayed and we were like this for hours until he felt sleepy.
Only and Mom could understand a fellow Mom. Thankful for a lady who gave up her seat so that I could rest for a while as Caleb fell asleep in my arms.
However, he pukes some milk so I change his t-shirt. I thought he would sleep thoroughly but he poop!
Goodness, the stewardess was already calling our flight for boarding and I was still at the CR washing his bum! Terrible .
And since his sleep was ruined he was so fussy on the plane. Even grabbed the sleeves of the lady sitting beside us.
Na, it's fine, I have a toddler too and I know how hard it was to travel with them. Thankfully the foreigner was nice though my nose bleed talking to her in English, lol.
Her son also gets fussy and she exchanges seats with her Mom. Her mother was a Filipina and was so nice of her helping me, entertaining my son all throughout the flight.
Even assist me going down the plane.
Aerial photo of Manila 🤣. No more greens, just look how it is.
Guessed, I wasn't lucky enough that day, as the plane disembarked far from the airport. We need to take a bus. It was hard in my case, carrying my heavy backpack and a wailing and fussy toddler in my arms.
Others might ask. Why I travelled knowing I'm alone with a toddler?
Simple, my parents are getting old and not that healthy compared to before. I just wanted to have more memories of them along with my son. I could rest after tiring days yet, money spent could still be earned yet times isn't.
