It is several months that I play and have fun on **[Moonkarts](https://moonkarts.arcadecolony.com/)** which is a **Hive-based arcade race game** that is part of the games featured on the [Arcade Colony](https://arcadecolony.com/) platform.  https://arcadecolony.com/ In this post, I share my analysis of my best season to date, season 33, in order to better show and explain how the reward mechanism works on Moon Karts. On Moon Karts the player is rewarded through **three reward mechanisms**: - **a reward in COLONY tokens for every single race**  - a seasonal reward based on rating points = **Ranked Leaderboard**  - a seasonal reward based on orbitals points = **Orbitals Leaderboard**  The **reward in COLONY tokens for each individual race** is influenced - by the **rating score**: each player starts the season with 1000 rating points - by the **position at the end of the race** - the **quantity of COLONY collected during the race** (note that 1 Colony collected during the race does not equal +1 COLONY in the wallet) - by the **quantitative of COLONY staked** which defines the **bonus multiplier** based on the rating  [Ranked Rewards & Colony Staking Requirements for Moonkarts](https://support.arcadecolony.com/hc/en-us/articles/30670211605140-Ranked-Rewards-Colony-Staking-Requirements-for-Moonkarts-MK) The seasonal reward of the **Ranked Leaderboard** depends on: - the ranking on the leaderboard = **rating points** accumulated during the season - the **staking factor** = the amount of COLONY tokens staked The seasonal reward of the **Orbitals Leaderboard** depends on: - the amount of **Orbitals points** accumulated during the races in the season (it is necessary to collect at least 2 orbitals in the race to earn Orbital points) - the **staking factor** = the amount of COLONY tokens staked - the **level** and **rarity of the NF**Ts that make up the **Kart Preset**. On Moon Karts, seasons have a duration of 10 days and **season 33**, the season that ended just over 2 days ago **was the best season for me** both from a game perspective because I played **220 races** (my personal best) and because I earned a total of **68032 COLONY tokens** in a single season (another personal best). On Moon Karts there is no section, like on Splinterlands, that allows you to see the results of all players in the season before the current one, and for this reason about 27-25 minutes before the end of season 33 I took screenshots of all the positions on the two leaderboards. |Ranked Leaderboard Season #33|Orbitals Leaderboard Season #33| |-|-| ||| ||| ||| ||| ||| ||| In **season 32**: - Ranked Leaderboard: 33 players - Orbitals Leaderboard: 23 players In the **season 33**: - Ranked Leaderboard: 37 players - Orbitals Leaderboard: 24 players In season 33 there was **an increase in active players**: +4 in the ranked leaderboard and +1 in the orbitals leaderboard. During season 33 and for the first time since I've been playing on Moon Karts I took note: - of the **number of races** I played - of the **rating points earned** after each race - of my **final placement** in the race - of the amount of Orbitals and Colony collected in each race. - of **the gain in COLONY tokens** received at the end of the race      In season 33 I used this **Kart Preset**: - Kart: **Arachno Eclipse** - Driver: **Drift** - Accessories: **Flex Edge, Jet Flow, Grip Ease** - Tech Cards: **Reinforced Body, Tire Upgrade, Engine Enhancement** - Fuel Consumption: **260.2** (first 10 races)  I started and ended the season with **447692.82 COLONY staked** and played **222 races**. In the **first race**: - I came **first** - I collected **3 orbitals** and **4 colony** (in-game items do not correspond to COLONY tokens) - I gained **4.6 COLONY**. In the **Race 222**: - I came **first** - I collected **4 orbitals** and **5 colony**. - I earned **131 COLONY** The race in which I gained the most COLONY was the **race 220**: - I came **first** - I collected **3 orbitals** and **7 colony**. - I gained **140 COLONY**  On Moon Karts, with the same staking factor, **playing a lot of races allows you to increase the amount of COLONY won in a single race** = it's a game that rewards those who play a lot and I like that aspect. In **season 33** my **final results** were: - **5th place** in the **Orbital Leaderboard** - Reward: **44593 COLONY** (previous season: 7th place: 12260 COLONY) - **5th place** in the **Ranked Leaderboard** - Reward: **10404 COLONY** (previous season: 11th place: 7648 COLONY)  Based on the market value (Highest Bid) of [COLONY](https://hive-engine.com/trade/COLONY) tokens and the market value of HIVE tokens ($0.229), I calculated the value in SWAP.HIVE and dollars of the seasonal reward I received for playing in season 33.  https://hive-engine.com/trade/COLONY Adding up all the rewards I earned (races + leaderboards) I received a total seasonal reward of **68032 COLONY = 55.23 SWAP.HIVE = $12.64**  Thanks to the rewards I earned from playing in season 33 (leaderboards + races) and thanks to the COLONY tokens I earned from daily airdrop as [SPS](https://hive-engine.com/trade/SPS) stakeholder and [GLX](https://hive-engine.com/trade/GLX) stakeholder today I was able to add **+68373.39 COLONY** to my stake (68031.54 + 341.85). ! In the current season I will have less time to play on Moon Karts due to family and work commitments, but I will continue to monitor my results and progress race after race and I am curious to see the effects of increasing my amount of COLONY staked on my game rewards.
