I like to play [Hive](https://hive.io/)-based games and at the same time I like to create content about the games in which I actively play.
Today I return to share my gaming activity and progress on [dCrops](https://www.dcrops.com/?ref=libertycrypto27).
I am an active player of various types of games and in the past I have tried several farm simulation games, but the only farming game I currently play is [dCrops](https://www.dcrops.com/?ref=libertycrypto27).
[dCrops](https://www.dcrops.com/?ref=libertycrypto27) is a Hive-based farming game that is very easy to play in Farming mode, but becomes a little more complex in other game modes.
I chose to play only in Farming mode because I have little free time and many games to play, and Farming mode allows me to play in every season in just a few minutes (about 15-20 minutes per season = 15-20 minutes in a 15-day period).
I have been playing dCrops for more than four years and, at the start of each new season (every 15 days), I try to publish a post in which I share my gaming activity and progress and keep track of some information that I consider very useful in a game like dCrops: **number of active players** and **CROP/SHARE ratio**.
dCrops has a **small but solid base of active players** who are fond of the game, and there are few players who, in addition to playing, publish content related to dCrops on their Hive blogs.
In fact, in the last month, only 5 posts with the dCrops tag have been published, and two of them are my posts.
The last post published by dCrops was published about 4 months ago.
This shows that dCrops has a problem with promotion and a lack of presence on Hive, which could be partially solved by organising contests like Splinterlands does.
dCrops is a game that I like, and I will continue to promote it by publishing a post every 15 days because it is a game that has weaknesses but also many strengths, such as **the various reward mechanisms (seasonal quests, seasonal leaderboard, Lucky Wheel, Holding rewards, 2-3 events per year)**. If there is a future increase in Hive users, dCrops could also increase its player base.

# The CROP/SHARE ratio and the number of active players
During each season I like to use the **View Last Season Leaderboard** feature to get useful information about the **number of active players** and **CROP/SHARE ratio** related to the previous season.
**Knowing the CROP/SHARE ratio related to the previous season is useful information especially for new players** because this way they can have an estimate of the value in CROP they can get by using a seed-type NFT.
In fact, each seed-type NFT planted in a land-type NFT produces crops that can be sold in exchange for SHARES points, and each SHARE point earned during a season allows players to receive a prize in CROP tokens at the end of the season.
In the previous season, **season 104**, players earned **0.425 CROP for each SHARE point** (in season 103: CROP/SHARE = 0.395 CROP).
The gain in CROP per share point is something I consider important, which is why I will share and update this information in each of my posts about dCrops.
Unfortunately, I did not take a screenshot of the CROP/SHARE ratio of season 80 but I will try not to miss the data of future seasons.

I verified that this link only works for seasons 68 and up.
Starting from season 78 I also began to keep track of the number of active players season after season.
In **season 104** the **active players** were **197** = -9 active players compared to season 103.
This decrease in the number of active players could partly explain the increase in the CROP/SHARE ratio that I showed you before.

In season 104, I completed all the seasonal quests, even though at the beginning of the season I had to use the Reroll feature twice to change two quests that I wouldn't have been able to complete.
Completing all the seasonal quests is the only way to receive the reward in chests, which is why the Reroll feature is very useful, even though it costs 10 CROP for each use.

I received 15 Reward Chests.

I could have been luckier with the contents I found in the chests, but I'm still happy to have found a greater number of resource-type NFTs (4 Wood + 1 Stone) than in the chests I opened previously, in which I found only one resource-type NFT (1 Wood).
Season after season, the value of my inventory in Shares increases because I follow an event-oriented strategy and only sell the crops my farm produces during events, with the exception of crops that I sell to complete sell-type quests.
In fact, my inventory is worth 28828 Shares, while at the end of last season it was worth 26463 Shares = +2365 SHARES.

Based on the CROP/SHARE ratio for season 104, with 2365 Shares I could receive 1000 CROP as a reward in the seasonal leaderboard, but I prefer to continue following my event-oriented strategy and will only sell my crops when the next event starts.

I received three quests that are impossible for me to complete because I don't have 1 French Bean in my inventory and because I don't have NFT King Weed and French Beans to plant in my plots.
I used the reroll feature three times and spent a total of 30 CROP tokens

The last game operation I perform at the beginning of each season is planting my seed-type NFTs.
