**Farming Tales** is an NFT-based farming simulator built and developed on the **WAX** blockchain. I have a natural preference for games built and developed on the blockchain of **Hive** because Hive is the blockchain project I care more and in which I am more active but when I discovered Farming Tales I decided to make an exception because I immediately saw the potential in this game, potential that depends mainly on two peculiarities that Farming Tales has and that many other blockchain based farming games don't have: - Farming Tales has **beautiful graphics** and uses a **3D graphics engine**. - Farming Tales has some **NFT** that are **linked to real goods from real farms** (saffron, honey,...).  Another point in favor of Farming Tales over other farming games is that it chose my beloved Hive to: - post game-related updates (account: @farmingtales). - create a **community**: https://peakd.com/c/hive-151527/created - run a weekly contest to incentivize its players to sign up and post content on Hive. In addition, Farming Tales has among its future goals to integrate on the **Hive** blockchain (Q3 - 2022).  _{Source: Whitepaper of FarmingTales} After this brief introduction to the Farming Tales game, let's take a look at the latest news and updates regarding Farming Tales (*reference period: March 23, 2022 - March 31, 2022*).  ## Farming Tales News  The development team is working on the release of the **New Wanchester** which will introduce a **new production system** that will allow NFTs in the game to produce food and vegetables that can be sold or used to produce other game elements and will also be useful to complete quests, another game element that will be implemented in the future. Although the "New Wanchester" update has not yet been introduced, the first building of the new Wanchester is currently being sold: the **Windmill**. ## The Windmill  The **Windmill** is a unique NFT representing a building.Due to the exclusivity and uniqueness of this NFT, the **auction sale** mechanism was chosen.  The sale began on March 27, 2022 within the **Auctions** channel of the Farming Tales Discord server and will end on April 3, 2022 at 20:04:27 UTC.  In order to participate in the Wildmill auction you need to have the **Auction role** which is obtained: - inserting the **address of the WAX wallet** inside the **wallet-link** channel - by typing the command **!link yourwallet** inside the **auction-wallet-link** channel.   I registered to participate in future auction sales that will be within my reach but I didn't try to bid for the Windmill because I knew I wouldn't be able to get it with my 30000 SEST tokens. In fact there are still more than three days left to the end of the auction and the current highest bid is **900400 SEST** tokens whose corresponding dollar value is **1859.91$**.  I am curious to see what the final purchase price will be but I believe it will be at least double the current price.  ## New Buildings Blend Evaluations  On March 28, 2022, the possibility of blending **NFTs** of type **Building** was expanded, which before this date was only possible for the following NFTs of type Buildings: - **Stables** - **Shelters** - **Chicken Coops** - **Vegetable Gardens** Today it is possible to perform the blending operation on all NFTs of type buildings except for legendary buildings that have a single rarity. In today's post I want to share the evaluation of the blending operation on the last buildings to which this possibility has been enabled: - **Silo** - **Water Tower** - **Barn** The buildings **Silo** and **Water Tower** are very important in the dynamics of the game Farming Tales because to perform the operation of harvesting is necessary to have a minimum amount of food or water that will be consumed at the time of harvest and that varies depending on the type of NFT used.  For example, to harvest an **Arlequin Goat NFT** you need **9 units of food**. To harvest a **Vegetable Garden NFT** with a **Wheat Seed** NFT you need **18 units of water**. On Farming Tales each harvest operation has a cost in **CBIT** tokens and having an NFT Water Tower or Silo type Epic instead of common allows you to reduce the cost of harvesting as you can see from the calculations in the following tables.  The **Barn** building is not yet useful in the game but it will be when the New Wanchester will be introduced. The blending operation of the Silo, Water Tower and Barn buildings is executable from the site https://neftyblocks.com/c/farmingtales/blends/ according to the following mechanism: *** ### Water Tower - Silo - Barn ### **From Rare -> to Epic**: - **1 Rare Building + 10X 4000 SESTs Voucher = 1 Epic Building**  *** The question I asked myself and will answer in this post with some calculations is as follows: ***What is the most convenient way to get a Water Tower, Silo and Barn card: buying from the market, crafting or blending?** Let's find out together ;) Farming Tales NFTs can be bought/obtained: - from the **Market** section of **Farming Tales** using SEST tokens (Crafting operation) - from the **Market** section of **AtomicHub** using WAX tokens: https://wax.atomichub.io/market?collection_name=farmingtales&order=desc&sort=created&symbol=WAX - from the **Market** section of **NeftyBlocks** using WAX tokens: https://neftyblocks.com/c/farmingtales/marketplace?sort=created&order=desc&collection_name=farmingtales - dakka sezuibe **Blend** from **NeftyBlocks** using NFT and SEST tokens: https://neftyblocks.com/c/farmingtales/blends/  In order to make a purchase of a Farming Tales NFT at the most affordable price, it is always important to first compare the purchase cost for each possible purchase option. It is therefore important to know the value of all tokens that can be used to purchase NFTs. Today March 31, 2022: - **1 WAX = $0.362395.** - **1 SEST = 0.00207$.** - **1 CBIT = 0.04675$.**  Let's start with the NFT Water Tower.  ## Epic Water Tower: The best case purchase  The NFT Water Tower has a cost of: - **250 WAX** on AtomicHub/NeftyBlocks. - **80000 SEST** on Farming Tales (Crafting) - **18 WAX or 50000 SEST + 40000 SEST** (Blending) In the table in the image below I have calculated the purchase cost in dollars for each viable purchase option to identify the most cost saving purchase option to use.  The best possible purchase today, March 31, 2022, is the purchase made through the Blending operation obtained using the Rare type Water Tower purchased on AtomicHub/Neftyblock.  The savings compared to the purchase on AtomicHub is minimal but it is always a saving ;) The worst choice is instead the purchase through the Crafting operation on Farming Tales.  ## Epic Silo: Best Case Purchase  The NFT Silo of Epic type has a cost of: - **375 WAX** on AtomicHub/NeftyBlocks - ** 80000 SEST** on Farming Tales (Crafting) - **20 WAX or 50000 SEST + 40000 SEST** (Blending) Also for the Epic Silo I calculated the purchase cost in dollars for each viable purchase option to identify the most convenient purchase option to use (table image below).  Today March 31st 2022 it is more convenient to buy the Epico Silo through the Blending operation and in this case the saving is definitely higher as you can see from the data in the following image.   ## Epic Barn: The best buy case  The Epic type NFT Barn has a cost of: - **210 WAX** on AtomicHub/NeftyBlocks. - **20 WAX or 50000 SEST + 40000 SEST** (Blending) Unlike the Water Tower and Silo NFTs, the Barn building cannot be purchased from the Market section of Farming Tales via the Crafting operation and for this reason there are only two purchase options to compare.  As you can see from the calculations I made the best option to buy the NFT Barn of Epico type is the direct purchase from the market of AtomicHub or NeftyBlocks and the saving is 13.05$ compared to the cost of the blending operation.   ## Final Considerations  My gaming/investment activity on Farming Tales is twofold because I play **two roles**: - I am a **simple player** who has decided to invest in the purchase of NFT and tokens - I am an **operator** of the **[Cartel](https://www.1up.zone/@flauwy/1up-cartel-is-exploding-over-30k-usd-cartel-issued-only-4-days-left-for-base-price)** project of the beautiful community called **[OneUp](https://www.1up.zone/)**.
