Blockchain-based games and in particular **[Hive](https://hive.io/)-based games** are one of my passions and for this reason I like to play but I also like to share on my Hive blog my gaming activity and my progress in the games I like the most or in which I see the most potential. Today there are many games I play with a good regularity but among all of them and after almost six years since my first battle it is Splinterlands the game I play most frequently and practically every day. My **approach in web 3 games is very simple** and is more based on fun than on the financial side: - **if a game is fun for me** and I enjoy playing it consequently I invest and buy/improve the game's assets. - **If a game does not entertain me or entertains me little** I sell the assets to buy other assets of games that give me more fun or to do Hive Power Up and increase my HP. I enjoy progressing and improving my game stats in my favorite games but **my main goal** has always been, is and probably always will be to increase my **Hive Power**!  **On Splinterlands my main goal has changed over time.** Before the division of Ranked Play into the Wild Format and the Modern Format my main focus was **accumulating useful cards in battle** and increasing the level of these cards. Then my focus shifted only to **usable cards in the Modern Format** because it is the only format I like because there are no bots and I only enjoy playing against human players like me. The presence of bots in the Wild Format has progressively nullified my enjoyment in this format and in fact has also produced a great disincentive for me to buy cards in general and especially cards that are close to coming out of the Modern Format. As long as human players like me cannot use all the cards only against human players = **as long as there are bots in the Wild Format I will buy few cards and prefer to rent them to play in the Modern Format!** Therefore, my **current main goal** on Splinterlands is not to purchase and upgrade cards but to **increase the amount of SPS in my possession**. The **SPS staked** tokens are very important in the game dynamics of Splinterlands because they influence: - the **GLINT Boost** - the **SPS Boost** = the gain in SPS for each battle won. On December 23, 2024 I had **120009.68 SPS staked**. Today, February 22, 2024, I have **130829.42 SPS staked**.  In **61 days** I obtained a good increase: **+10819.74 SPS** |December 23, 2024|February 22, 2024| |-|-| ||| If I maintain this rate of increase I could reach my accumulation goal in about 4 months but of course I hope to reach my goal sooner. If I divide the SPS increment by the number of days (61) I get a daily increment of **+177.37 SPS per day** which is a higher increment than the daily increment of 114.65 SPS per day that I had calculated on December 23, 2024. I will continue to increase my amount of staked SPS as long as I enjoy playing on Splinterlands and also because **SPS tokens have many use cases** besides the use case related to in-game rewards. In fact, staked SPS tokens continuously produce SPS tokens and VOUCHER tokens based on a **APR** of **10.64%**  Compared to 61 days ago, the APR has decreased slightly but it is a good APR because it is above 10%: - Dec. 23, 2024 -> **APR 10.86%** - January 22, 2025 -> **APR 10.64%** I am also an active player on [Moon Karts](https://moonkarts.arcadecolony.com/) and thanks to my staked SPS tokens I can **claim** the **[COLONY](https://hive-engine.com/trade/COLONY)** tokens that are distributed daily via airdrop to **SPS stakeholders** and **GLX stakeholders**.  Screenshot from: https://arcadecolony.com/token/colony SPS tokens also have a DEFI-side use case because they can be added as liquidity in different [pools](https://beeswap.dcity.io/pools?search=sps). ||| |-|-| I like to invest only in the pools that have additional rewards for liquidity providers and I am a liquidity provider in the **PKM:SPS** pool in which I have a share = 0.108% and I receive a daily gain in DEC, SPS, PKM and VOUCHER tokens (APR 23%). In the next image you can see my latest game result in the league 2 tournament which allowed me to receive **73.55 SPS** as a reward.  Accumulating more SPS will be important for me because I will be able to advance in the higher Soulkeep leagues in which I do not advance by choice because I want to have a good SPS boost on Splinterlands. Another use case of SPS tokens that I consider very important to me is the **possibility of voting Proposals and Draft Proposals**.
