My Double Game Activity in the Modern Format & My Survival Mode Game Experience:
My Achievements in Season 155 and My Next Steps in the Current Season
On Splinterlands is running **season 156** which will end in 10 days and 22 hours.
On Splinterlands you can play on **different game modes**.
I play on all game modes with the only exclusion of tournaments where I would like to return to play and perhaps will if my free time increases in the future.
In this post my focus is on the game modes that I enjoy the most which are the **Modern Format** and **Survival Mode** game modes, game modes that are part of **Ranked Play**:
In the previous season, **season 155**, I played in two of the three Ranked Play type game modes: Modern Format and Survival Mode.

The analysis of my game results and rewards I received in the last concluded season of Splinterlands form the basis for deciding my strategy in the active and current season and on this post I share:
- my game results and rewards I got in **season 155** in the **Modern Format** in which I played manually with two accounts
- my results and considerations after playing in **Survival Mode**
- my considerations, strategies and **my next steps in season 156**, the current season on Splinterlands
# My dual game activity in Modern Format
I start with my favorite ranked play format: the **Modern Format**.
I have chosen to play mainly in Modern Format long ago and since bots and battle helpers have been banned from this format.
I like to play manually against human players like myself and that is why I do not play in the Wild Format where there are so many bots.
Starting from season 152 I doubled my playing activity in Modern Format and so, even in season 155, I played in Modern Format with:

With @libertycrypto27 in the Modern Format:
- I use a card collection (owned + soulbound) consisting of **1149 cards = 28712 BCX = 612960 CP = 2844$ Market Value** (using Market Prices).
- I have a **SPS stake =** 133K (-50K delegated to libertygame27) = **83K effective**
- **I don't rent cards** from the market and use only the cards I own
With @libertygame27 in Modern Format:
- I use a card collection (delegated by libertycrypto27 + soulbound) consisting of **206 cards = 8366 BCX = 95180 CP** = 829$ Market Value** (using Market Prices)
- i have a **SPS stake = 50K** delegated by libertycrypto27
- in each season **rent some cards from the market** to increase the strength in battle

I have played more battles with my main account (256 vs 182) because:
- when I have free time and I only have my notebook I only play with my main account
- I can only play simultaneously with both accounts when I play from my desktop computer which has four monitors and multitasking is greatly facilitated.
The greatest satisfaction I had in season 155 was **returning to play** (albeit for a few battles) **in the Champion III league** after several years.
In the current season I will try to enter this league again!

The balance between rental revenue (libertycrypto27) and rental expenses (libertygame27) was positive: +12.90 DEC.
In season 154 this balance was slightly negative.
In the next two pictures you can see the rewards in SPS that I received by playing with my two accounts.

Based on the current market values of the **HIVE** token, the [SPS](https://hive-engine.com/trade/SPS) token (highest bid value), and the DEC token (Lowest Ask value), I calculated the net dollar gain I made from playing with my two accounts.

I am satisfied with the financial results of both of my two accounts especially because they improved from season 154.
With my main account I have made good progress in upgrading Rebellion Reward cards.
A month ago I completed the upgrade of common Rebellion Reward cards.
At the beginning of the current season I spent 75K Glint to buy 100 Rare Draw
With the cards I found in the 100 Rare Draw I completed the upgrade of 6 Rebellion Reward rare cards.

I have completed upgrading 11 out of 12 rebellion reward rare cards and I am only 9 BCX of Dark Arborist away from completing the upgrade of all rare cards
I have also purchased 11 Epic Draw in which I found the cards you can see in the next image.

Even with libertygame27 I am making progress in upgrading Rebellion reward cards although, having only started playing for a few seasons, I still have many draws to purchase.

# # My next steps in Modern Format current season
In the current season I will continue to play and have fun in Modern Format with my main account but I don't know whether to continue playing also with libertygame27 because the cost of renting summoner cards has increased a lot.
In fact with my second account I need to rent at least two top level summoners to get the seasonal results I got in the previous season.
In season 155 I played with only 2 maximum level summoners on which I spent:
- Kelya Frendul (level 8): 4.94 DEC per day
- Obsidian (level 8): 6.15 DEC per day
Unfortunately, I forgot to renew the rental of these two summoners before the end of the season.
If I wanted to rent these two summoners today I would have to spend:
- 44.90 DEC per day for Obsidian (level 8)
- 100 DEC al giorno per Kelya Frendul (livello 8)
Because of these rental prices this season I will change my strategy and play with my second account only with the lowest level summoners I have available.
If I will find rental prices much lower than the current ones I will rent more cards otherwise not and I will also evaluate whether to continue playing with two accounts in the Modern Format or whether to go back to playing only with my main account.
Another option I am considering is to delegate the two summoners I use with libertycrypto27 and have used less during previous seasons.
# My experience playing in the new Survival Mode
My first season in Survival Mode was positive from a play perspective because I had fun playing.
At the same time, it was an unsuccessful season from the point of view of game results because I played only 48 battles of which 17 battles were won and 31 battles were lost.

My current problem in survival mode is that I have few summoner cards and many monster cards.
In the **second season in Survival Mode**, my game results and win rate improved because **I mainly played the last day of the season using all my cards**.

The last day of the season:
- I first turned the energy bar to 0 in Modern Format
- then I enabled all my cards in Survival Mode

- then I played in Survival Mode with all my cards without worrying about the cooldown of the cards I use in Modern Format because at **every start of the season the cooldown is reset**.
In the second season of Survival Mode I started from the Bronze III league with a rating score = 260.

By playing 51 battles I increased my **rating** from 260 to **560** points and ended the season in **Bronze II** league.

I had fun playing but my total gain in SPS was much lower than my seasonal gain in Modern Format.
In fact, I played two game sessions and with 31 battles won, I earned a total of 8.51 SPS.

Based on my seasonal earning and based on the market prices of rentals this season **I will also change my strategy in survival mode**:
- I will put my best wild cards available for rental instead of using them in the first part of the season in Survival Mode
- I will play in Survival Mode only on the last day of the season when I can use the cards I use in Modern Format and the cards I was not able to rent to other players.
If I will be able to rent my summoner wild cards that I used in the previous season in the first part of the season in Survival Mode I will earn much more than the 8.51 SPS I earned in season 155 ;)
