It is several months that I play and have fun on **[Moonkarts](https://moonkarts.arcadecolony.com/)** which is a **Hive-based arcade race game** that is part of the games featured on the [Arcade Colony](https://arcadecolony.com/) platform.  https://arcadecolony.com/ On Moon Karts, season 37 ended a few minutes ago and season 38 has begun.  In this post, I'll share my gaming activity, my progress, and also an analysis of the seasonal rewards I earned in season 37, but first, I'll briefly explain what the reward mechanisms are and how they work in Moon Karts. On Moon Karts the seasons last 10 days, and there are **two seasonal reward mechanisms**: - **Ranked Leaderboard** = seasonal reward mechanism based on **rating (or ranking) points** In each race, all players earn rating points according to this division: - 1st place: +10 Rating points - 2nd place: +8 Rating points - 3rd place: +6 Rating points - 4th place: +4 Rating points - 5th place: +2 Rating points - 6th place: +1 Rating point The rewards are quantities of [COLONY](https://hive-engine.com/trade/COLONY) tokens  - **Orbitals Leaderboard** = seasonal reward mechanism based on **orbitals points** In each race, there are six orbitals along the route. Orbitals are in-game items. To earn orbital points, you must collect at least 2 orbitals. The amount of orbital points earned in each race depends on the type and rarity of the NFTs that make up the Kart Preset. The rewards are amounts of COLONY tokens  In addition to the two seasonal reward mechanisms, there is also a **reward mechanism for individual races.** Players who finish in the top two positions in a single race receive a COLONY token prize that is influenced by ranking points and by the **staking factor = the amount of COLONY tokens staked**, which defines a **bonus multiplier** based on the rating score. Unfortunately, Moon Karts does not have a Last Season section like Splinterlands does, so I try to take a screenshot of all the seasonal leaderboard positions a few minutes before the end of each season. In the following images, you can see all the positions on the two leaderboards when there were less than 15 minutes left in the season. |Ranked Leaderboard Season #37|Orbitals Leaderboard Season #37| |-|-| ||| ||| ||| ||| ||| In **season 36**: - Ranked Leaderboard: 28 players - Orbitals Leaderboard: 21 players In **season 37**: - Ranked Leaderboard: 29 players - Orbitals Leaderboard: 25 players There were more active players in season 37 than in season 36: - +1 player in the Ranked Leaderboard - +4 players in the Orbitals Leaderboard Starting in season 33 I began to take note - of the number of races I play in each season - of the rating points earned after each race - of my final placement in each race - the amount of Orbitals and Colony collected in each race. In the next image, you can see my results in each of the races I played in season 37.  In Season 37, I used this Kart Preset: - Kart: **Arachno Eclipse** - Driver: **Drift** - Accessories: **Flex Edge, Jet Flow, Grip Ease** - Tech Cards: **Reinforced Body, Tire Upgrade, Engine Enhancement** - Fuel Consumption: **260.2** (first 10 races)  With this Kart Preset, I can earn a maximum of 20K Orbital Points per race if: - I finish first in the race - I collect 6 Orbitals along the way I started and ended season 37 with **579920.10 COLONY staked**. During season 37, I played **87 races**. My goal for the season was to play 200 races, but unfortunately I didn't have enough free time to achieve this goal. In the **first race**: - I finished **first** (+10 ranking points) - I collected **3 orbitals** and **4 COLONY** along the way (in-game items that do not correspond to COLONY tokens) - I earned **2.03 COLONY** In the **87th race**: - I finished **first** (+10 ranking points) - I collected **4 orbitals** and **6 COLONY** along the way - I earned **12 COLONY** I showed you the results of the first and last races to highlight how the COLONY token rewards per race increase as the number of races played increases and, consequently, as the ranking points increase. Considering only the rewards won in individual races, I earned a total of 569 COLONY.  In **season 37**, **my final results in the two leaderboards** were: - **5th place** in the **Orbital Leaderboard** - Reward: **11723 COLONY** (previous season: 6th place: 28810 COLONY) - **7th place** in the **Ranked Leaderboard** - Reward: **9390 COLONY** (previous season: 8th place: 8920 COLONY)  I have summarized my total seasonal results in tabular form.  Based on the market value (Highest Bid) of [COLONY] tokens (https://hive-engine.com/trade/COLONY) and the market value of HIVE tokens ($0.203), I calculated the value in SWAP.HIVE and dollars of the seasonal reward I received for playing in season 37.  https://hive-engine.com/trade/COLONY Adding up all the rewards I earned (races + leaderboards), I received a total seasonal reward of **21682 COLONY = 15.84 SWAP.HIVE = $3.21**  Thanks to the rewards I earned in season 37 (leaderboards + races) and thanks to the COLONY tokens I earned from the daily airdrop as an [SPS](https://hive-engine.com/trade/SPS) stakeholder and [GLX](https://hive-engine.com/trade/GLX) stakeholder, today I added **+21965.32 COLONY** to my stake. I would like to accumulate 1 million staked COLONY, and to reach this goal, I need to accumulate another 398114.58 COLONY.  In the season that has just begun, my goal will be the same as last season: to play at least 200 races. To play 200 races during season 38, I need to play an average of 20 races per day. It won't be easy to achieve this seasonal goal because I usually have some free time at night when there are few active players.  I started season 38 with a good amount of FUEL (95503).  My first three races of the season also went well, as I got three first places out of three races played.    After three races, I'm in fourth place in the Ranked Leaderboard, but the season has just begun and some top players haven't started playing yet.  I will continue to have fun playing Moon Kart this season and will have fun also trying to improve my game results and seasonal rewards.
