THE GOVERNMENT IS UPSIDE DOWN

Together with @stepko, we took a tour of Berlin's government district and, among other things, turned the Reichstag upside down. This, and all the other pictures, were taken in a single exposure. During the exposure, I rotated the camera around the optical axis.

Gemeinsam mit @stepko haben wir das Berliner Regierungsviertel unsicher gemacht und unter Anderem den Reichstag auf den Kopf gestellt. Dieses, und auch alle anderen Bilder, sind in jeweils einer einzelnen Belichtung entstanden. Während der Belichtung habe ich die Kamera um die optische Achse gedreht.

For the second version, I lowered the camera a little. I couldn't say now which picture I like better.

The lighting of the Reichstag is not particularly exciting, in my opinion. The building itself is actually an ugly block. But what the heck, the Reichstag was simply missing from my collection.

Für die zweite Version habe ich die Kamera etwas tiefer ausgereichtet. Ich könnte jetzt gar nicht sagen, welches Bild mir besser gefällt.

Die Beleuchtung des Reichstages ist nicht besonders spannend, wie ich finde. Auch das Gebäude selbst ist eigentlich ein hässlicher Klotz. Aber was solls, der Reichstag hat mir einfach noch in meiner Sammlung gefehlt.

The last version was actually not meant very seriously when I recorded it. But actually I think the picture is quite good. That's why I don't want to withhold it from you.

Die letzte Version war eigentlich nicht so ganz ernst gemeint als ich diese aufegnommen habe. Aber eigentlich finde ich das Bild ganz gut. Deshalb möchte ich euch es nicht vorenthalten.

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?

Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.
