Hello friends around the world. In this post, I'd like to invite you to explore some of the beautiful art, natural resources, spices, and traditional Acehnese clothing on display at the Aceh Cultural Week (PKA), held every five years in Banda Aceh, Aceh, Indonesia.

On November 12, 2023, I and several other friends left my residence in Pidie for the city of Banda Aceh where the Aceh Cultural Exhibition or what is usually called (PKA) was being held in the city center at Sri Ratu Safiatuddin Park.

As we entered the Exhibition area, there were many works of art on display and one of them that caught my attention was a painting displayed in an open building.

Apart from paintings of several famous heroes in Indonesia, there are also several Acehnese heroes painted by artists there, namely paintings of the hero Sultan Iskandar Muda.

The image above displays a wide variety of cooking spices, including coriander, cloves, candlenuts, ginger, nutmeg, star anise, turmeric, bay leaves, cinnamon, dried chilies, and bay leaves. These spices have been used in cooking by the Acehnese people from ancient times to the present day.
