Saturday, October 18th, the wind was blowing gently and the air felt very cool, with occasional drops of rain still dripping from the stems of leaves. I walked from my house to my aunt's house, carrying two small cartons of milk I had gotten from the Integrated Health Post (Posyandu). It didn't take long, only about a five-minute walk from my house to my aunt's. When I arrived, I saw my aunt chatting with her co-workers. I heard the screams of monkeys from an old woman's house, so I opened the gate and continued walking to see the monkeys hanging around.

I took shelter under the old woman's house and saw that there were so many animals caged around the old woman's house.

This monkey's name is Jhon, he was adopted by the old grandmother's son about 5 years ago and until now he is still chained in that house.

Look!! This little monkey is named Leah, she is a female monkey who is also kept by the old woman's child. I gave her a banana that I picked up near the place where the monkey was tied up.

These animals appear to be poorly cared for. From the places where they're tied and caged, there's a lot of trash strewn about, and I can also smell the stench of dead rats.

Actually, I felt sorry for the animals that were caged by the man, but I couldn't do anything, there were even many birds in the cages that looked like they were very stressed.

This monkey is locked up in a small and cramped cage.

These birds tried to fly away when I approached and they looked very frustrated.

Back to the old woman

This old woman's name is Nyak Cut, a native of my village and over 90 years old. She lives with her son, Nasruddin, and her grandson, who suffers from mental illness.

This house used to belong to Nyak Cut's younger sister, but 3 years ago her younger sister also died at the age of 100 years.

Since her younger sister died, the grandmother chose to live in the place where her sister used to live and there she was cared for by her son Nasruddin.

My heart felt very sad seeing a sight like this, the grandmother's residence was already full of spider webs because it hadn't been cleaned for a long time.

Her weakened body lay on the areca palm frond that served as her bed. Her eyesight was severely blurred and her memory was fading.

Every day the old grandmother's child only fed the old grandmother once a day, namely in the afternoon, because every day she fasted.

Look, she sleeps in a room full of cobwebs and also years of plastic bottle trash. A year ago, I took care of her assistance funds from the local government and she received elderly assistance money of $150 USD and the money was taken by her son.
So this is my story on the weekend of Saturday, October 18th, namely visiting an old grandmother named Nyak Cut, and also seeing lots of birds, chickens and monkeys.
and if you want to know this grandmother's address, I include the Worldmappin code
Thank You for reading 🤗 Weekend Greetings
