Short Ride to Village Kot

Hello Hivers! Namaste ji, I hope you all are doing great. Today, I’m sharing a short cycling ride I went on this morning.

With the monsoon arriving in the northern parts of India, it’s been raining heavily—so much so that I couldn’t even step outside over the weekend. One thing about the monsoon is its unpredictability; the weather can change within minutes.

Since I missed riding over the weekend, I decided to head out this morning. I woke up at 6:30 am, got ready, and left for a place called Kot, a small village with hardly 6–7 houses. It has always been my go-to spot whenever I’m short on time. The best part is the climb to the village—even though the distance isn’t much, the gradient makes it feel like a workout.

The roads weren’t too wet, and once I reached Kot, I decided to venture further into the forest nearby. It’s a beautiful, tranquil pine jungle, and I always feel refreshed whenever I visit. The peace, along with a short downhill stretch after a few furlongs, is like icing on the cake.

I went downhill for that morning adrenaline rush, but the trail was slippery, so I had to be cautious—which meant I couldn’t “send it,” LOL. Eventually, I reached a spot where the land had turned into a quicksand-like pit. A few houses are being constructed in the jungle, and heavy vehicles like trucks have been driving through the area, which has made some parts of the jeep trail unridable.

Still, it was a thrilling ride. Mentally, I felt supercharged. Except for the mud stuck to my tyres and bicycle frame, everything else was awesome.

MUDDY TYRES, HAPPY HEART, TOTALLY WORTH IT.
