Summer has finally arrived in Moscow. The warm air is slowly replacing the lingering chill of spring. The trees lining the streets to Gorky Park have turned a fresh, vibrant green, as if welcoming everyone with a gentle embrace of nature. I love how the sun now takes its time to set, giving me a little extra daylight to enjoy the day.
In Gorky Park, the atmosphere comes alive in the summer. People come with bicycles, skateboards, or simply stroll while enjoying ice cream. This park feels like an open space filled with countless stories. Some come for picnics, some to sunbathe, others to joke around by the riverside. It feels warm, not just from the sun, but from the energy of the people around me.
I sit by the edge of the artificial lake, watching the evening light dance on the surface of the water. There’s the sound of children laughing, street music in the distance, and the tempting aroma of coffee from a nearby kiosk. It’s simple, but peaceful. Moments like this make me forget about the heavy thoughts that sometimes visit my mind.
In a corner of the park, the flowers have started to bloom. Their colorful petals blend beautifully with the sky, which slowly turns shades of orange. I snap a few photos, not for social media, but to capture the calmness I feel right now. Sometimes, it’s these little things that stay the longest in our memories.
I realize that Moscow in the summer reveals a completely different side. It feels warmer, more relaxed, and so full of color. A city that usually feels cold and hectic in the winter turns into a vibrant place, where everyone seems to agree to set aside their worries for a while and enjoy the evening in their own way.
Before the sun completely disappears, I walk along the path lit by the park’s soft lamps. The evening breeze brushes gently against my face. I smile, because today, I’m okay. And Gorky Park has successfully become my perfect little summer escape.
With Love
