As our country move is coming very close now… let me show you why I will miss this place and the raw nature that surrounds me. Walk with me through our autumnal garden and forest ~ in the far far north 🇸🇪. We will see the beautiful fall colours, chanterelles, a squirrel in the tree, last nights AURORA in the night sky. Everything that makes autumn so special here and all its little details like the flowers that are still around as winter is slowly creeping in. We are expecting snow early… as in later this month early already. Beth (my van) doesn’t have winter tires so we have to be gone before that. Moving south before the winter. The night temperatures are already freezing and in the morning when I get up, all is covered with a beautiful thin blanket of frost. Sounds interesting… join me on my walk today. Let me show you the last few days.

With this post I’m joining in at the Wednesday Walk #challenge. That is hosted by @tattoodjay every week on Wednesday. ‼️Have a look: Here in the Wednesday Walk Community if you want to join in!… the community is run by @tattoodjay Look at his last #Wednesdaywalk post. Today’s photographic selection will be of 29 PHOTOGRAPHS Dates : random photos during the last week of September 2025 The Photographs in this post are taken with my iPhone. I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are experiencing my adventures on this walk to #discover everything what I saw, like the little #details seen through my eyes.

~ We will start on an early Saturday morning last weekend, in the distance we see the mist covering the lake and the valley in the distance. IMG_3761.jpeg

The trees started to change slowly and the first yellow leaves are peeking through. Last year after they turned yellow we had a very severe frosty night and while the sun was thawing the leaves they fell frozen off the trees so the fall colours didn't last long enough for me to capture. But… this year I can. They are turning now from yellow to orange. Maybe I will see some red this year before we start driving on our journey south crossing 5 countries. Yep… 5. IMG_3766.jpeg

On Sunday morning we see more mist in the valley and the colours are getting more intense. Sooo beautiful don’t you think? This is my view from the porch and driveway. As our cabin is half way on a mountain. IMG_3821.jpeg

Behind the cabin the leaves are very yellow now. A beautiful contrast with the bright blue sky. IMG_3824.jpeg

The sun lets me capture a little squirrel in the tree eating some nuts and sunflower seeds. Do you see the little bird too? top right IMG_3543.jpeg

As we walk through my garden where once my veggies were… we see one… one kale plant trying to give me a little bit more kale this season. It seems to love the frosty nights and while the sun shines… the frost is melting into little water droplets. IMG_3826.jpeg

See… IMG_3827.jpeg

A few late flowers on the front of our cabin. They do brighten everything up. I love the shadows in this photo against the basement wall. IMG_3833.jpeg

Monday a dark cloud came over early afternoon. I wanted to capture some autumnal colours before it started to rain, so I went out quickly to capture the fall colours. Come let’s hurry… we don't want to get wet hahaha IMG_3858.jpeg

We find a tree with a few red berries left. The leaves yellow and orange 🍂🍁 IMG_3862.jpeg

We look closely… beautiful the autumn leaves 🍁 🍂 IMG_3863.jpeg

Most of the red berries are gone, eaten by birds or just fallen off. IMG_3867.jpeg

One more capture of these beautiful leaves. IMG_3869.jpeg

Looking towards the forest we see in the background the first tree line is fully yellow now. Most of the trees are pines in the forest they won’t turn with autumn. So a few broadleaf trees are what we need to admire in the autumn. IMG_3870.jpeg

Along the track we find a few yarrow flowers. Most are dried and have already seeded. IMG_3877.jpeg

In our forest we have chanterelles and it is wise to forage for them before the season stops. So, we still found a few and prepared them for our dinner. Nom nom… nothing can beat fresh mushrooms out of the forest. IMG_3538.jpeg

Some perennial plants are turning red along the cabin. IMG_3831.jpeg

As we wander around, shall we go further and walk a bit up the hill? IMG_3880.jpeg

Yes, we do. The leaves cover our walking path. Luckily it is still dry. We can walk for a little while. IMG_3886.jpeg

I love wandering over paths through the forest in autumn. Do you? IMG_3887.jpeg

We capture those few tall yellow trees as they stand out so much today. IMG_3888.jpeg

Wandering further we look up. Here most of the leaves are gone. They are lit up by the sun. IMG_3891.jpeg

As we wander we come across the abandoned farm next to us. Here is where I feed the deer in the winter. Maybe you remember this view. One day… I paint some pictures of it in different seasons. As I took many many photos of this exact location. With snow and without. IMG_3897.jpeg

The clouds are still threatening and coming closer as we walk down the mountain again. IMG_3899.jpeg

As I zoom in we see the yellow trees popping out against the forests in the distance. IMG_3900.jpeg

Yesterday the yellows are getting brighter and more leaves are dropping. I collect them and cover the veggie beds in readiness for the winter. IMG_3930.jpeg

A walk is so needed this last week and it is nice you joined me. Especially next to packing more and more boxes. Every room has boxes everywhere. I counted this morning and we have 56 items and boxes packed and wrapped. A few more things to go. During the weekend we start loading Beth. Let’s hope it all fits this second time. IMG_3929.jpeg

Last evening we got treated for something special. Aurora season comes with autumn and winter here in the far far north… it was cloudy as you can see. Luckily we could still capture the aurora in the sky. Going from green to blue and even red to purple. So special and magical… I will capture as much as I can these last 10 days here. How can I not. Hehe IMG_8207.jpeg

As I got up early this morning… we had a very frost night again. By the time it was 7:24h it still was around freezing temps 🥶 IMG_3984.jpeg It will make sleeping in a tent 🏕️ very soon very interesting as we drive over 3500km south. Luckily it will get warmer the further we get. I keep you posted…

…and here I say that’s all for today’s post my friends. Join me next time for more updates, adventures, #stories and photographs. Even my own artworks, once in a while, will come by. Thank you so much for looking, and reading.
