Cindy here! Not really great at social media, nor that great at blogging (or having the vulnerability to blog) but I'm navigating through STEEMIT slowly. The community is quite different from Reddit and Instagram so I'm not use to this. LOL anyone remember tumblr was the thing 10 years ago?!?! The only time I have ever blogged was on Tumblr in high school! I'm beginning to think they're very similar. Can yall recommend any artists on STEEMIT to follow?
On another note, here's another oil painting! Named her Penny. July 2019. My third or fourth painting ever.
My usual strategy to painting portraits is to just do it. Portrait first then the background. And usually my background is just random lol. When I get better I feel like I can grasp on the concept of layering the face instead of one layer. (In oil painting, the more layers you do, the more the luminosity and vibrancy of the painting gets).
Painting Penny has been great therapy for me. I hope you see how slightly unamused she is. My version of a manic pixie girl in any quirky rom com. She does her own thing. She'll be there to listen but really she also minds her damn business. She keeps herself at a distance. And always will. She's damn beautiful tho
