Chit Chat Friday - Colours from my garden

I love waking around in my garden even though I don't have a lot growing yet. It's a bit of an unorganized mish mash because I want to try grow so many things. Most of the plants are no where near to harvest yet, but some have started to flower and create a beautiful array of colours.

My marigolds are slowly starting to flower. These were the first seeds I sowed this year. It's been a long journey, over two months and they've finally flowered. It's so satisfying to see a tiny seed turn into an actual flower.

The bumblebees loves the hotlips salvia, they're always buzzing around here. I tried to get a photo of them but it's so difficult.

Considering how delicious strawberries are, their flowers are quite plain Jane and uninteresting. A typical example of an ugly duckling turning into a beautiful swan

The spring onion flowers on the others hand are very beautiful once I zoom into them. I hadn't noticed that before. I wonder what will happen next? Will they open up into flowers or burst open to something else? So many surprises to be seen in nature.

My sister propagated me this hydrangea plant. Did you know the hygrangea flowers can change colours based on the soil acidity? Another amazing feature of nature. Who knows what this pink princess may transform to in future

Veggies also flower but it normally means they're at the end of their life. My bak choi has flowered quite early on this year, skipping most of it's adult year where I should have been harvesting them instead

Tomato on the other hand, flower in the the early stages to produce fruit. There seems to some debate about whether tomatoes are vegetables or fruit... maybe the flowers will settle the argument now.

The pansies have had quite a short season this year. The flowers are starting to drop already and some of the petals are broken. I don't know if there will be more flowers to come, I hope so as they're very beautiful.

And finally the queen of my garden, my lavender. I have a big plant in my front garden next to the salvia hotlips. It has really flourished this year and has taken up so much space. I'm sure she would have pushed the salvia hotlips off the raised bed if they weren't planted deeply in.

I also have 8 more lavender plants in my front garden. They're smaller here because I haven't watered them much, and there's a lot of traffic passing by. That said, they're still growing nicely and attracting some bumblebees.

It took me a long time to get this one decent image of the bumblebee on the lavender.

What colours, if any, do you have in your garden? And which is your favourite flower from above?

I'm writing this as a Chit Chat Friday series of post with the objective of driving up engagement and communication on Hive. The content will evolve around daily life things making it easy for everyone to take part to engage with one another. Hopefully it will interest you to make genuine engagement instead of two word spams like "Nice photos" "Very beautiful" or calling bots. I will be muting those comments.
