Out of all the pebbles on this beach, which is your favourite? Likewise, out of all the people on Hive, who do you like most?
I like a lot of people on Hive because there truly is a great bunch of nice people here. That's why I try to make it to meet ups if I can. Here's my last count: - 6 meetings with 1 other Hiver in 5 countries - 7 meetups in 5 countries - 3 HF in 3 countries
Apart from people I like, I also admire and respect many people on Hive because I think they're a great asset to the chain. People who aren't necessarily major stakeholders who drop big upvotes, key influencers or community/project leaders. Rather, people who work quietly in the background, the unsung heroes so to speak.
The kind person
For example, the first person who comes to mind crops up in so many places on Discord. Let's call them A. A can always be relied on to offer advice and support, they're always patient and courteous, no matter how noddy a question is or whether the other person is a blatant abuser. A gets my full respect for their attitude and contribution and mostly importantly, their kindness. Many people would have probably come across A before, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way about them.
The mean person
Another person who gets my full respect, sadly hasn't been active for a while. Let's call them B. B is quite a social butterfly and seems to know everyone. I feel we are on the same wavelength in terms of what we want for Hive. But B goes steps ahead in terms their involvement in different projects. B is a straight to the point no nonsense person, doesn't beat around the bush, and will give you the meanest response in the nicest way that you don't feel it being mean. Genius.
The clever person
What I mean by this are those who create clever stuff on Hive, be it running a witness node, coding a dapp, game or front end, or even writing simple scripts or programs to make our life easier on Hive. And yes, we are blessed with many of them on Hive. C is a coder/programmer/developer or whatever you want to call them. I call them a wizard. They wave their magic wand, and hey presto, my wish is granted. C is totally selfless, and does not ask or even expect anything in return for waving their magic wand for me. I feel like I have my own personal wizard and I'm extremely grateful for that.
I'm not allowed by to name names here because @galenkp threatened to downvote me if I did. If you read the above description and think "That sounds like xxx" or "I know someone who does that" then we may or may not be talking about the same person.
The most beautiful thing is that there are potentially hundreds of these amazing people on Hive who deserve our respect and admiration, and shout out, even not by name, and they all make Hive such an incredible place.
