Hello family.
It's been a great weekend for me. I trust it was for you too.
Here is my reflection for the week's lessons. I hope it blesses you.
You see, sometimes, we forget what we learn because we don't take the time to reflect deeply so that the lesson will sink in and produce the necessary fruit for godliness and honour to God.
This past week, the lessons, especially the topics of Reasons To Believe in God (part 1 and 2), have given me a newperspective and insight into my knowledge and understanding of the book of Psalms 53 vs 1 which says:
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
The New Living Translations puts it this way:
Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good!
Bro Eli made us understand that irrespective of religion, any human being with a functioning brain and mind knows that there is God. This knowledge was intricately wired into the thinking faculty of humanity. God is inevitable.
Those who say they don't believe in God do not engage their own minds or faculties of perception with the overwhelming evidence of creation around us. It is actually foolish not to use one's mind in reasoning. So, denying that there is God is such a foolish thing to do.
But according to the Bible, the fool isn't just one who openly declares that there is no God. It is the one “who says in his heart”. Only God can search the heart, and it is He alone who knows who said in their hearts that there is no God.
We too can tell by the evidence of corruption and evil actions. No one who denies God in their heart can do any good. God is the inspiration for holiness and godly living, both for the religious and irreligious.
So while we have every reason to believe in God, we must keep those reasons close to our hearts lest at any time we are tempted to say in our hearts that there is no God.
