Last week, my husband and I decided to go to the city for a simple date. It was nothing extravagant, but I was really happy because it had been quite some time since we last had a moment just for ourselves. With our daily responsibilities and busy schedules, little moments like this feel extra special.
I suggested that we eat at McDonald's since we both missed the familiar comfort food we used to enjoy when we were younger. I immediately agreed because honestly, I was also craving their fries and pepper steak meal.
When we got there, the place was lively as usual. Families were eating together, students were hanging out, and couples like us were sharing meals. We ordered our favorites, he had burger and nuggets while I went for pepper steak rice meal and fries.
Sitting down together, eating slowly, and having the time to chat without distractions felt refreshing. We laughed at random things, shared updates about our week, and even reminisced about the times when we used to go on simple dates back when we were just starting as a couple.
After eating, we decided to stroll around the mall. We didn't really have a plan to buy anything, but it was fun to just walk side by side, window-shopping and looking around. Sometimes, just being together without a rush makes the day more meaningful. We checked out a few stores, admired some displays, and even joked about things we couldn't afford yet but dreamed of having someday. Those small conversations are the kind that stay with me because they remind me of how we support and understand each other's dreams.
When we finally decided to head home, I felt light and relaxed. The date may have been simple, but it gave me a sense of happiness that only comes from the quality time spent with the person you love. And to make the day even better, when we arrived home, I discovered that my parcel had already been delivered. I was so delighted to see it waiting for me because it contained the lotions I had ordered from Tiktok shop. I was running low on my current ones, so the timing was just perfect.
Unboxing the parcel felt like opening a small gift to myself. It made me smile because after a fun date with my husband, I also got something I had been waiting for. Truly, that day was a reminder that happiness often come from simple meals, quiet walks, and little surprises at the end of the day.
