Pocas cosas me han asustado en la vida, siempre he tratado de salir adelante y de afrontar cualquier situación de la mejor manera para que el miedo no me venza o me limite a hacer las cosas, sin embargo, en este mes hubo algo que me causo mucho miedo y pensé muchísimo en tomar esa decisión, y me refiero al plan de desistir de las llamadas muelas del juicio, las tan temidas cordales son unas muelas que, causan dolores de cabeza tanto en la entrada como en la salida la verdad jajaja, pero en mi caso, la decisión de desistir de ellas no fue por obligación, digamos que fue por necesidad. En este año específicamente me he dedicado muchísimo a mejorar mi salud y estética dental, esto era algo que tenía en planes en años pasados, pero no fue hasta inicios de este año que por un evento lamentable, me ví obligada a empezar a visitar a un odontólogo con regularidad. Por suerte ya me falta muy poco para culminar mis tratamientos, y gracias al cielo estoy creando la sonrisa de mis sueños pero, uno de los últimos pasos es el uso de ortodoncia en la parte inferior de mi sonrisa, pues yo tengo un pequeño apiñamiento dental que impide que mis dientes se vean armónicos, así que la ortodoncia es la clave para resolver mi problema. >Few things have scared me in life, I have always tried to get ahead and face any situation in the best way so that fear does not overcome me or limit me to do things, however, this month there was something that caused me a lot of fear and I thought a lot about making that decision, I am referring to the plan to give up the so called wisdom teeth, the so feared wisdom teeth are teeth that cause headaches both in the entrance and in the exit hahaha, but in my case, the decision to give them up was not by obligation, let's say it was by necessity. >This year specifically I have dedicated a lot of time to improve my dental health and esthetics, this was something that I had planned in past years, but it was not until the beginning of this year that due to an unfortunate event, I was forced to start visiting a dentist regularly. Luckily I am very close to finish my treatments, and thank goodness I am creating the smile of my dreams, but one of the last steps is the use of orthodontics in the lower part of my smile, because I have a small dental crowding that prevents my teeth look harmonious, so orthodontics is the key to solve my problem.   Sin embargo, para usar la ortodoncia se requiere espacios, los cuales eran limitados en mi cavidad bucal, así que mi odontólogo me indico que para obtener esos espacios, debíamos extraer las muelas del juicio, serían la cuatro en este caso, y aunque eso me daba un poco de miedo sabía que era la mejor decisión puesto que este tipo de muelas suelen molestar con el paso del tiempo. Debo admitir que estuve posponiendo muchísimo la extracción de las muelas pero, la semana pasada me decidí de que las cosas tenían que ser así, y me propuse hacerlo. 🙈 Él viernes con mucha disposición me desperté temprano, desayuné muy rico (sabía que será la última comida solida en varios días) y me fui al consultorio, ese día pedí permiso en mi trabajo para faltar y fui mentalizada en lo que tenía que hacer. Al llegar me estaba esperando la cirujana maxilofacial, quien sería la encargada de hacerme la cirugía. Una vez allá ya no me sentía nervioso, y el proceso no considero que haya sido traumático, un poco tardado si, pero yo estaba consciente de que no era cualquier cosa, eran cuatro muelas las que me iban a sacar jajaja, así que debía tener paciencia. >However, to use orthodontics requires spaces, which were limited in my oral cavity, so my dentist told me that to obtain those spaces, we had to extract the wisdom teeth, which would be the four in this case, and although that gave me a little fear I knew it was the best decision since this type of teeth tend to bother me over time. I must admit that I was postponing a lot the extraction of the molars but, last week I decided that things had to be like this, and I decided to do it. 🙈 >On Friday I woke up early, had a delicious breakfast (I knew it would be the last solid food for several days) and went to the office, that day I asked for permission at work to be absent and I was mentally prepared for what I had to do. When I arrived, the maxillofacial surgeon, who would be in charge of performing the surgery, was waiting for me. Once there I did not feel nervous, and I do not consider the process to have been traumatic, a little late yes, but I was aware that it was not just any old thing, there were four molars that were going to be removed hahaha, so I had to be patient.      El proceso tardó aproximadamente hora y media, y aunque hubo algunas piezas que dieron lucha se logró el objetivo. Siendo honesta me sentía como un mounstro al salir de allí, pues me veía muy inflamada aunque no tanto como suelen verse otras personas. En términos de dolor pues al estar anestesiada literalmente no sentí nada, o al menos nada muy significativo, y al llegar a casa si tuve un poco de dolor en una escala 8/10, pero con mis analgésicos todo salió bien. Creo que lo más desmotivante de todo fueron las comidas, pues solo me mantuve tomando líquidos, y comiendo muchísima gelatina y helados. Ya han pasado cuatro días desde mi cirugía y ya no siento dolor, he comenzado a comer sólidos gradualmente y he tenido una recuperación muy favorable. Dentro de tres días deben retirarme las suturas y luego de unos días más de reposo, podré dar el siguiente paso en mi tratamiento. Una vez más me siento muy feliz por mi, por no tener miedo y afrontarlo con valentía cada prueba, muchas personas me dijeron que estaba loca por extraerme 4 muelas al mismo tiempo, pero yo sabía los riesgos y como asumirlos, estoy feliz con ello. ¡Que viva el helado! 🥰 >The process took about an hour and a half, and although there were some pieces that struggled, the goal was achieved. To be honest I felt like a monster when I got out of there, because I looked very swollen but not as much as other people usually look. In terms of pain, since I was anesthetized I literally felt nothing, or at least nothing very significant, and when I got home I did have some pain on an 8/10 scale, but with my painkillers everything went well. I think the most demotivating thing of all were the meals, because I only kept drinking liquids, and eating lots of jelly and ice cream. >It has been four days since my surgery and I no longer feel pain, I have begun to eat solids gradually and I have had a very favorable recovery. In three days the sutures should be removed and after a few more days of rest, I will be able to take the next step in my treatment.
