The Santa Clause 2 (2002)
Directed by Michael Lembeck. Starring Tim Allen, Eric Lloyd, Elizabeth Mitchell, David Krumholtz, Judge Reinhold, and Wendy Crewson.
In the previous film divorcee Scott Calvin had his son, Charlie, for Christmas Eve. Charlie and Scott awake to a noise on the roof, when they go outside to investigate a man that looks like Santa falls from the roof, upon his death the man disappears, leaving just his suit behind. Charlie convinces Scott to but the suit on and continue Santa's duties.
Upon donning the suit Scott automatically becomes the new Santa, and by the following Christmas he has morphed physically and mentally into Santa Claus.
Now it transpires that there is a second clause, after completing his first year as the big fellow Scott must now get himself a Mrs Claus or he will no longer be able to Santa...nor will anyone else.
Sharon Stone, Kelly Preston, Jennifer Connelly, and Brooke Shields were considered for the role of Carol Newman, a role that went to relative unknown Elizabeth Mitchell, probably now best known for her time on tv series Lost.
