Overview

Today I brought a Wild Ranked battle, where the most important limiting factor will be the mana cap, but it is advised to take into consideration the rulesets as well if you want to win this battle. ๐Ÿ˜Š

My upcoming Battle ruleset(s)

Ruleset Description
Back to Basics Monsters lose all abilities.
Equalizer The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.
Maneuvers All units have the Reach ability.
The mana cap for my next battle was 18, which is absolutley low, so it is time to use only budget monsters that cost less than four mana. This is important, because thanks to the **Back to Basics** ruleset none of the monsters will have any ability throughout the battle, so they can use only their stats to deal damage. ๐Ÿ˜‡ The **Equalizer** ruleset will help a little bit, so both of us would be able to use low mana monsters and give them high **health**, because this ruleset will increase the **health** of all the monsters to the same level. The **Maneuvers** ruleset will give the **Reach** ability to all the monsters, so we were be able to take advantage of that and use **melee** attack monsters in our second positions, where they would be able to attack from. ๐Ÿ˜‰

My lineup

|Kelya Frendul was an obvious and easy choice for me as my Summoner, because he cost only four mana and in return he gives +1 speed and +1 armor to all of his friendly monsters, so they will be quicker and they will be able to block one full physical attack. ๐Ÿ˜Š| |The Torrent Spawn cost zero mana and usually he doesn't have too much stats and quite weak. Luckily the Equalizer ruleset raise his health to six like everyone in this battle, which is a huge upgrade and for zero mana I was able to get a decent tank. ๐Ÿ˜‹|

|The Cruel Sethropod cost zero mana and has nice amount of melee attack damage, which is two. Normally he wouldn't be able to attack from the second position, but again the Manuvers ruleset helped him to get the Reach ability, so he was able to deal damage from there. ๐Ÿ˜Œ| |The Halfling Refugee also has a nice amoutn of attack damage the same as my Sethropod, but he couldn't attack from there only in case my Torrent Spawn dies. I used him as my off-off tank for this abttle to protect my backline. ๐Ÿ˜œ|

|Igor Darkspear costed only two mana, which was an easy choice to bring him into this battle. He has +1 ranged attack only, but for two mana at least he is making some damage. ๐Ÿ˜‡| |The Kulu Swimhunter cost twice as much like my Igor and he has twice as much damage as well and he is well worth its price as long as I am able to keep my frontline alive to protect him. ๐Ÿค—|

|The Shock Trooper also cost 4 mana and he has twice as much damage like my Kulu and on top of that that damage is magic, so he will ignore the enemy armors completely. In a normal battle without the Back to Basics ruleset he would have a very dangerous ability, which will damage all of his friendly monsters, but luckily I do not need to worry about that and just enjoy his raw damage power. ๐Ÿค—|

My opponent brought **Olivia Shadowmeld** who is a **Death** Summoner and her power is to reduce the **health** of all the enemy monsters by one and she is able to bring one additional **Gladiator** monster into the battle. ๐Ÿ˜‹ The +1 **speed** buff from my **Kelya** helped a lot for my monsters to attack first and such they managed to kill their tank just before the first round finished. Without any ability (*only Reach from the ruleset*) the battle will be pretty straightforward. In the second round not much changed and four of my monsters were quicker than my opponent monsters, so they were able to acquire another kill and that monster couldn't even attack. In the third round my **Shock Trooper** killed another monster with only one attack and the rest of my team killed their **Halfling Refugee** rihght before the round finished. My opponent had only one monster remained, which was an easy kill for my team, so they were able to won this battle. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy was to use monster, which are otherwise has huge drawbacks like the **Shock Trooper** and **Halfling Refugee**. The **Back to Basics** ruleset helped to remove their bad abilities and take advantage of their raw power. ๐Ÿ˜‡
