Overview
Today I brought a Ranked battle, where I will face my opponent in an interesting battle, because nonce of the monsters will have any abilities and all the monsters will be able to attack anywhere they are. This is a very rare combination of rulesets, so I will be very curious how the battle will turn out. ๐
My upcoming Battle ruleset(s)

| Ruleset |
Description |
| Back to Basics |
Monsters lose all abilities. |
| Melee Mayhem |
Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position. |
| Close Range |
Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles. |
The mana cap for my next battle was 56, which is more than enough for my needs and I always love to play in high mana battles, because I am only limited by the rulesets. ๐
The **Back to Basics** ruleset is the most simple and straight forward ruleset amongst all, because it means that none of the monsters would have any other abilities apart from their raw stats. This makes setting up the lineup a bit more easy and also difficult, because I need to monster with high stats and to watch out for their attacks.
The **Melee Mayhem** ruleset will help a bit for me and my opponent, because it will allow all the **melee** attack monsters on the battlefield to be able to attack from any position, so I can use some of the big bad **melee** attack monsters in my backline as well. ๐
The **Close Range** ability, will also help a lot, because it will allow all the **ranged** attack monsters to attack from the first position, so basically they will behave like a **melee** attack monster in this battle.

My lineup

|The Helios Matriarch is an amazing choice for this battle, because I will use a very old friend from the Dragon Splinter. She will give +1 Speed to all of her monsters and on top of that she will be able to bring one additional Gladiator monster into the battle if I want to do that. ๐|
|Commander Slade was a very obvious choice as my main tank, because he has quite a lot of melee attack and amazing speed. On top of that he has a lot of Armor and Health to sustain the enemy incoming attacks. He might be able to soak up quite a lot of damage and that is why his mana cost is exactly 10. ๐|

|The Djinn Chwala is a Dragon monster and such he has huge amount of armor, health and attack, so it is an excellent choice for this battle. ๐ค|
|The Djinn Oshannus is an excellent off-tank and damage dealer, because he has a lot of health and speed to protect himself against the enemy attacks. He has +2 magic attack, so he will ignore the enemy armors easily. ๐|

|Nerissa Tridawn is an excellent damage dealer in the Water Splinter, because her damage is +3 and she has got a lot of health as well, which will make sure that she will sustain quite a lot of lot of damage before she dies. ๐ค|
|The Night Reaper cost a lot of mana, because he has quite a lot of health and magic attack, which will come handy balsting through the enemy armors. ๐|

|The Shock Trooper cost almost nothing and he has huge amount of stats compared to that, because if he would have his abilities that would be very bad as it would damage his own monsters and himself. ๐|

The Battle

My opponent brought the **Helios Matriarch** as well, because I think he wanted to use some of the **Dragon** monsters like I did, but more importantly the +1 **speed** and the ability to use a **Gladiator** monster is quite good. ๐
**Speed** and attack damage was everything in this battle, so in the first round I quickly lost my **Slade** even though he is an amazing tank, but thanks to my **magic** attack monsters we got rid of their tank as well ignoring his **armor**.
In the second round I lost my 'new' tank quicker than my opponent, but luckily my team also killed their 'new' as well.
In the third round the tide turned, because my team killed their tank quicker than I lost my **Oshannus** and my team even killed their **Sentry** who had only seven **health** and some **armor**, which she couldn't use against our **magic** attacks. ๐ค
By the fourth round me and my opponent had only two monsters against each other, so it will be interesting to see who will be the quicker and stronger.
Luckily my **Night Reaper** still had a lot of **health** and my team managed to kill their **Kulu** while my **Night Reaper** survived the fourth round. Their **Shock Trooper** had only five **health**, which was an easy bite for the rest of my team and we won this battle. ๐

Battle Result

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
My strategy was to be quick as possible and to try to bring monsters whose raw stats are high enough to sustain as much as damage possible. Luckily my opponent went for more **melee** than **magic**, so the **armor** on my monsters blocked quite a lot of damage, while our **magic** attack monsters ignored their **armor** and created a huge advantage for us. ๐
